I was doing a search on line to try to find more information on Ms. Harstad to confirm some reports. I stumbled on this website. I'm glad that I did. I too had an encounter with Ms. Harstad on line indirectly. I read some of her postings at a forum. I searched for the forum again, to post proof in a report I am currently working on. However I have been informed that the site unfortunatly has been shut down three months ago due to lack of payment of site renewal.

At the forum Ms. Harstad made the following statements through various postings.

She is, or was, on the BOD for DCA.

She is, or was, on the BOD for AKC.

She is an AKC Earthdog Judge.

She helped write the rules for Earthdog for AKC.

She lives in Tennessee.

She lists her involvement with dogs in years that would place her age in her 60's.

This sparked my interest so I did a bit of calling and found that these are all false.

According to reports from DCA, she is not on the BOD nor ever been on the board.

According to reports from AKC, she is not on the BOD nor ever been on the board.

According to the Judges directory at the AKC site, she has never been an AKC Earthdog judge.

According to the representative for Earthdog at AKC, she was not involved in writing the rules, that honor falls on another gentleman who also resides in California.

All her addresses point to her living in California.

I stubbled upon a photo of her on line. She looks to be in her mid 30's.

Because of this I am inclined to believe the statements made by this gentleman who calls himself "Mac". I could see these false statements about hims being made by Ms. Harstad.

On a personal note.

I did stumble upon some information regarding this Sussie Due that Ms. Harstad brought up in her rebuttal. Ms. Due is an AKC Earthdog Judge and listed in the Judges directory. It makes me wonder if this is an act of jealousy just thrown in on Ms. Harstad's part? The reason I think this is because Mr. "Mac" posted his complaint in Jan. 2007, but Ms. Harstad posted her rebuttal in 2008 not long after, according to the AKC directory, Ms. Due was approved as a judge. I have not been able to find a connection between a "Mac" in NY and Ms. Due in Oegon (And that is not the name of Ms. Due's husband)

I honestly do not know why I'm posting this as this is normally not my style. But I also do not believe in turning a blind eye to an obvious unwarranted attack on a fellow man.

Anyone who doesn't like someone can write crap about them on these places. I have been showing dogs around Becky for 5 yrs now and I am currently looking to get a b***h from her. She has nice dogs and has always spoken and been very nice. Yes she is involved in a lot of things dealing with the dogs. I think people like the fact that they can post lies about others on the internet and it is there for good. Don't believe everything you read from forums like this. There are 2 sides to every story. I came across this while searching for a company in TN.


Just for kicks, or maybe out of pure boredom, I googled all names involved in this.

It seems that this Sussie gal seems to be involved in allot of professional work and seems to have very little time to be badmouthing people on the internet or even posting on the internet. As a matter of fact I found very little postings from her.

However it seems like this Becky gal is all over the internet talking about something or other so she has lots of time to post on the internet. Sounds like one of those people my daddy used to talk about that just talked to hear themselves talk.

I don't even understand why this complaint is here. It sounds like just a bunch of personal slamming. Its not a business. No one has been ripped off. No one has been slandered. So I just don't understand the need for allowing this "play ground" type fighting to even be allowed here.

I don't know MAC, or the coward who wouldn't leave a name, but please grow a set!!!

I have known Becky Harstad, For over 20 years. And she is as honest as the day
 is long.  AKC,AND INTERNATIONAL CH. HI-LI SAN JOQUIN, JED , AND
SERVICE DOG WAS MY FIRST BUT NOT MY LAST CHAMPIAN, and I have BECKY 
TO THANK.. HE EVEN WENT BEST IN A ALL BREED SHOW under a German breeder judge.  With me at the end of the leash.

She has breed many AKC champions.  MORE important she has and is breeding
SERVICE DOGS for the deaf, and for people like myself who need dogs that can tell us what our bodies are going to do before we do. 

 She has even shown at the WORLD SHOW where you compete againest  as many 400 to 500 Dachshunds and her dog took the breed!!!

    She got her first show Dachshund in 1958, she was 12. YOU DO THE MATH.
 There are undoultedly pics of her in her 30's so what. She has shown a bit.

Because of this great dog woman I was able to show my own dog to ALL of his championships.  And now another of her dogs sleeps at the end of my bed.
She even flew all the way from Tenn. to Salt Lake City with her so she wouldn't
have to fly in the hold.  And yes, she did live in California. SHE MOVED, that is
allowed, is it not!  You don't have class enough to pick up after her dogs.

          And just so you all know, my name is CAROLANN BOARDMAN.

Terry, I just want to clarify some of the mistakes in your report to this site. First, I have never said that I was on the Board of DCA. Not even a member of DCA so how can I be on the Board. I am also very open about the fact that I am not now a member of DCA by my choice and have told many people the reason. Never said that I was on the Board for AKC. And I never said that I was an Earthdog judge. I am an AKC Field Trial Judge and have been doing earthdog since before AKC even had the event. But I am not nor have I ever said that I was an Earthdog Judge. As to the statement that "I" helped write the rules for AKC earthdog, well, I was involved with the development of it when I did live in California. Never said that I wrote the rules but I did say that one of the rules was due to something that one of my dogs did during one of the working test to decide what would be involved for each level. Either you are making up these things out of whole cloth or you are purposefully lying for some reason.

I lived in California for many years but left there in 2004 and now live in Tennessee. And I am 63 years old so thank you very much for saying that I look like I am in my 30's. Just wonder how you managed to find a picture of me that old on the internet. Evidently, your ability to search the internet is not as good as you think. Also, just for your information. Mac is not a man. She is a woman who lives in Oregon and not New York. Her real name is Sussie Due or whatever else she is calling herself these days.

The reason that my rebuttal to Sussie's story did not appear until it did was because I was unaware of anything being done by Ms Due since I had not had any contact with her since she was removed from several internet chat lists (only one of which I was in control of) because of her trying to incite trouble on those lists. I personally know of at least 4 lists from which she has been removed for this reason. Have no clue as to what web site of mine that has been shut down due to lack of payment since I have not had a web site. Some European breeders did set up something many years ago, at least 10, for me but other than providing them with information, I didn't have any part in maintaining it. And the places where Mac or Sussie Due had her encounters with me are still very much up and running.

I don't know why you have chosen to slam me this way since I have never had any contact with you that I know of. I am a breeder but I am also very involved with rescue and I train service dogs. I donate my time to take my dogs to schools, rest homes, and care facilities. It is my thought that since Mac's post stated that she lived in NY, you might just be another version of the same person. Very interesting thought, that.
