Being ripped off by Americas Best Contacts & Eyeglasses My records being held hostage!
I went today to get a copy of my presciption. It was nothing but a run around! They are telling me that the only way I can get my records is to have a follow up visit with the doctor. I told them I have done all that, I have had the same contact persciption for the last 8 months!
They are telling me it is "ILLINOIS STATE LAW" that I see a doctor for a followup before they release my records too me! I am not an attorney, but I never heard of such a thing!. I asked why, if in the past I have gone to Wal-mart and asked for me prescription, they would hand it to me with a problem? I asked if big places like Wal-Mart & Pearl Vision are breaking "ILLINOIS STATE LAW" by handing over the records without seeing a doctor for a follow up visit.
She said she didn't know! I asked if this was their" POLICY" or "ILLINOIS STATE LAW" and was told two different things in the same conversations!
I asked for a manager and was told "I AM STANDING IN THE GENERAL MANAGER".I asked to see the doctor and was told "HE'S OUT TO LUNCH" . I said I would wait and was told " YOU HAVE TO SEE THE SAME THE DOCTOR" come back on Monday! I asked to have Dr. JOHNSON (the doctor I saw 8 months ago) call me on Monday, then the stand-in Manager tells me he was transferred to the North Lake store and I would have to go there! It was nothing but a run around, They get you in there and hold your records so you can't go anywhere else!
I am trying to verify if what they are quoting to be "ILLINOIS STATE LAW" is really "ILLINOIS STATE LAW" and they are are quoting laws that don't exist to keep me from getting what is rightfully mine! Any help on this would be appreciated!
