Belfor Restoration/ Belfor USA- like all Direct Repair Program vendors panders to the insurance companies by design, and are not your best friend. They live off the insurance industry for their survival, not you. The dirty little secret that your agent and insurance adjuster will never tell you. They prey upon your demise.

If you want a fair bid, its not free. Only if you sign their contract will they give you a fair bid, otherwise its low balled and open ended. They have refused to stand behind their bid or a closed end estimate while prostituting themselves to the insurance carriers. If they coerce you into signing a work order during your traumatic moments of a fire or water loss, they may be able to do the repairs, but will be supplementing large amounts to make up for any purposefully and intentional low ball bid to you.

The insurer will pay them the added amounts without much argument if you sign your rights away allowing them to do whatever. You bet, they will do the job for the insurer but not for you direct. They know who really pays their bills and it isn't the homeowner. However, your insurer  wont pay you the fair market value if you demand a cash out. They will rely upon Belfor to under cut the bid to reduce any cash out value by 40-60%  almost always. Who is the real crooks now?

Adjusters have been shown to pay you the policyholder 40-60% less than the job is worth unless you hire their pet contractor. Still think its free and they are working for your interest? Lest you forget, its your home and your policy, not their's. Its called civil fraud how they operate in cohesion with the rogue insurers in the insurance industry like American Family  (a/k/a AMSCAM!) as only one of many bad examples of an insurer with corrupt claim protocols known as delay-deny-defend against many of their policyholders that Belfor panders to as partners in crime.

The results of writing low ball bids purposely for the insurance industry and then refusing to stand behind their bids in providing a written contract to make those repairs when called upon by the homeowner is an inducement of fraud.  The insurance company makes settlements based upon those mis represented bids that are not agreed prices. Belfor panders to the "will" of the insurers they depend on for business. They do not represent your best interest even when you sign their contract, their loyalty lies with your insurer. They have a conflict of interest in your claim representing you and your insurance company. They have shown they cannot serve two masters.

Never use Belfor when they are sent out by the agent or your adjuster. Hire someone that works only for you and not the insurance industry. Always take control of your claim by demanding the settlement be paid direct to you to decide how and when to spend it, its your money not their's. Put your earned claim money in your pocket, not the contractor pockets.  Find someone that will stand behind their estimates and writes closed end bids .....stop the fraudulent manipulation of bids by the insurance hired guns (contractors) used to defraud your right under contract to demand payment direct to you, not 3rd parties that have no interest in your home or policy.

I worked the Indianapolis Belfor office for little longer than 5 years as an estimator.  Our manager always told me in to write estimate the way we see it regardless of what kind of an estimate it is. If I was asked to prepare a consulting estimate for an insurance company or a law firm we wrote the estimate the same way, because we may get the job. Whoever wrote the complaint mast be either a contractor or a public adjuster that had something to gain. I am now working for an insurance company, and I am referring Belfor to our insured simply because the take care of our insured’s and we do not have any complains.
