First I want to state that our Belinski house is 23 years old and still standing. It's too late in the game to expect any sort of resolution. But I hope others learn from my experience. During the framing process I asked Belinski's framing contractor if the walk-thrus and the ceiling were low in the living center because they looked low. I was told "NO". The same issue was a problem in the patio walk-thru. I was inexperienced and believed him instead of confirming measurements. When there's nothing but raw 2"x4"s, elevations by eye  can be decieving. After the drywalling it was clear to me of the elevation error in the living center. When I told the Belinski he said it was too late because I signed off on the framing draw. We got stuck and continue to live with low walk-thrus. The moral of the story is confirm measurements and thoroughly inspect all phases of construction.
