This company has some serious billing issues and operate both unprofessionally and unethically in their approach to customer service.

I was just informed that my mother has received a letter from Bell indicating that she has been placed into collections for a bill with my phone number on it.

I cannot imagine how Bell Canada could place someone else's phone number on a bill and then send them to collections without contacting that person. The first notice of this error was made by snail mail in the form of a threatening letter. Why is it that a telephone company has a problem with pick up the phone to discuss this internal error but does not have an issue telemarketing my home/mobile/email address/tv to sell their products to me?

To make matters worse, when I called to discuss the bill, they told me they would need to speak to my mother regarding this issue and that they could not speak to me due to "privacy issues". So just because another name is attached to my phone number I must now tie up not only my time, but my mothers time as well to conference call Bell Canada to straighten out a problem that is entirely on their end.

Bell does not have an issue in charging customers an interest charge for bills that are paid on time. Perhaps I should bill-back Bell Canada for wasting my time, along with my mother's time, to correct their problem?

I now have to find time to contact this company, conferenced with my mother, between 8-5 pm to rectify the situation.

Harldy fair treatment toward two regulary paying customers.
