My husband and I purchased our first home for $43K, we used all our own money and sweat to update the home. We had in the past had loans from Beneficial and believed that they would be helpful to use some of the equity, to finish the home, my husband lost his job and I was only working part time. At the time, we were paying $500 per month which included insurance and taxes escrowed. Now our home is worth 98K after appraisal.

They financed 68k, and handed us a check for 12k. And our interest rate went from 8% to 13.9%, paying $800 per month and having to pay 2500. in taxes and 400. in insurance. Now that I went full time I thought they would help and lower the interest. I was giving a quote of using another 15k of our equity in the home. get no money, and lower the payment to 708. at 12%. We are living on the edge, the edge of losing our home that we put our blood, sweat and tears into. Losing our marriage of 23 yrs, losing the ability to put our son in college where he plays football. And giving our little girl the home we prayed for for years.
