Beneficial - HSBC rude, runaround, harrassing, uncaring, dishonest, unhelpful Ripoff Elmhurst Illinois
We are two honest and hard working people who thought that everything was perfect. We took out a loan with Beneficial back in June of 2001. Took out a 2nd on our house in July of 2002. We were always on time with our payments. In October of 2003, my husband was hospitalized with kidney stones. While in the hospital, he was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder ITP (low platelet count for an unknown reason.
We talked to our local office about the long and perminent ordeal we would be going thru, before we even got behind. My husband had two surgerys and was constantly in a hospital or doctors office for the next year and a half. We continually kept Beneficial updated and asked for assistance on what we should do because we knew that there were going to be many problems.
We had insurance on the 2nd loan, which paid very little because of hidden stipulations. My husband is a Pipe Fitter and they have no vacation pay or do not get paid for any missed work. We again asked what we should do. There responce was that it was our loan and our problem.
As our bills started to pile up, we again asked for assistance so that we could make ends meet. We were given the runaround about who we should talk to. We were asked to fax information about our bills. We were not allowed to make a partial payment of any kind. If we couldn't do a whole payment they would accept nothing.
Our credit card bills were huge because we were putting everything on them that we could. We asked to ammend or rewrite our loan and were promptly to NO!!!!!! We asked to apply for hardship on the advice of a friend. That was a possiblity we were told. We have now applied 3 seperate times, per Beneficials request on to be turned down because we supposedly make to much money, regardless of what medical bills we have.
We have closed all of our credit cards and enrolled in a debt consolidation firm. They have been wonderful with so many things but have been unable to help with our mortgage. We are continually behind atleast 30 days. We refuse to let them take our house as they put it, which is there threat because we are deadbeats and losers. Costumer Service, what a joke. The nasty phone calls never stop. You can give them information about when we can make a payment, only to turn around and still receive atleast 10 more phone calls stating that that isn't enough.
We can prove our medical expenses completly!!!! We found a mortgage company to give us a loan to get away for Beneficial only to find out when we had an appraisel done that our home wasn't worth what the original appraisel Beneficial had done. It was inflated to give us more money than the home was worth. We didn't have any clue until the last appraisel was done in the spring of 2005.
We were told by the harrassing phone calls from the collections department at Beneficial that they would stop at nothing less than having our credit ruined. Why I asked, the response was because they can. That is just not acceptable to us.
We are looking for any help to rid ourselves of this company, without forclosure or bankruptcy. We would also, love to see this company out of business. Please help!!!!!!! We love our home and don't want to lose it. We both have 2 jobs, and think that bankruptcy is not an option.
My husbands illness will never go away but we are sure trying to make Benefical - HSBC certainly be accountable for their behavior.
