Bennigans Grill and Tavern not so happy hour customer ripoff Clearwater Florida

I used to be a server at Bennigan's and recently quit. Bennigan's shamelessly promotes their "happy hour" two for one domestic drafts.

Here comes atlittle beer math... A pint glass of domestic beer sold at full price is 20 oz. During happy hour you get two mugs of the same beer, but guess how many ounces are in the mugs? 10 oz. In other words you are buying the same amount of beer for the same price. The only difference is that you are getting it in two seperate mugs.

Also, one of Bennigan's main dishes is their Asiago Pasta. This is really dusgusting so prepair yourself. The pasta is pre-portioned and then microwaved in plastic bags for three minutes. Then it is mixed with cheese and microwaved again in a plastic container. The problem with this is that they use THE SAME CONTAINER EVERY TIME. Making about fifty layers of micowaved cheese by the end of the night.

Another wonderful thing about bennigans is their infamous fajitas and chicken quesas. They advertise "spicy fajita chicken" and "high quality steak". The chicken and flank steak are baked on a giant pan in an oven the night before. They sit in a refrigerator over night and are microwaved to order, chopped up by some of the greasiest cooks you have ever seen, and drowned in cajun seasoning before sitting in a food window for ten minutes with a heat lamp that hasn't working in years.

All the money generated by the store is concentrated in corporate paychecks and manager bonuses. There are two people that work in the kitchen that have been paid minimum wage for more than the five years that they have worked there. One is mentally handicapped and one is deaf. These people cannot stand up for themselves and so Bennigans shamelessly walks all over them.

By eating at Bennigan's you promote the kind of corporate greed that our proud country is trying to stomp out. Do not eat there.

Not all Bennigans are the same

In response to the claim made agains Bennigans Restaurant I would like to state that not all Bennigans are the same. For example some Bennigans are corportate and some are franchises.

In response to the Asiago Pasta claim the Bennigans that I am presently employed at and another Bennigans that I also was employed at NEVER microwaved the pasta or the asiago cheese sauce but instead was sauteed in a pan.

The steak and chicken used for the fajitas were always kept in the "walk in" and cooked per order and ALL proper FIFO (First In First Out) are enforced. As far as the 2 for 1 happy hour Domestic draft beer that is a GREAT marketing technique obviously used by Bennigans (proven to work) for guests to order draft beer versus ordering water with lemon or a soft drink.

If you were so unhappy with Bennigans and the store you were employed at was preparing food the way you stated you should have called the employee 800 number and voiced an Anonymous complaint to Corporate and made them aware of the situation.

Each Bennigans are different and you obviously worked at one that from you state was terrible.

I have been with TWO different Bennigans and have been employed with the company for over a year and have had a great experience with not only the company itself, but also all the managers that I have been priveledged to work with.

I am sorry to hear your unhappy experience with Bennigans but would like to say that Bennigans is a great place to work and eat at.
