I posted my resume on Hotjobs.com website about 3 months ago, and have since been looking and sending out my resume to companies. About 3 weeks ago, I received an email from Bernard Haldane Associates Indianapolis, IN office that they wanted to see me about my resume. Needless to say I was excited that I had finally gotten a bite on my efforts.

I went in to see them on 22 Nov 02 and was supposed to meet with a Mr. Sam Kelley at noon that day. When I arrived, the office was nice and had a business-like atmosphere. The receptionist took my name and told me to have a seat, so I did and began to go over in my head what I need to do and say in this "interview". About 5 minutes later, a Mr. David Caswell came out to "interview" me.

I asked Mr. Caswell why Mr. Kelley would not be interviewing me and he simply brushed me off! I thought that was strange, but I kept my bearing and followed Mr. Caswell. Once in his office, he started to tell me about BHA, which sounded more like a sales pitch than anything. He talked for almost 10 minutes in which time I don't think I saw him stop to take a breath.

I am in the military and am getting ready to transition to the private sector, and this I told him. He fired off immeditaley that BHA was sympathetic to the military, and that it was the military that helped to build BHA. Needless to say, I felt that I was in the right place. Next, Mr. Caswell asked me if I was married and if my wife was working, this made me a little uneasy; all I could think was "Is this guy for real, what does this have to do with me or my resume?"

He also asked me what I made annually, when I told him he remarked that BHA probably couldn't help me. This was after he built me up about my resume and skills!!!! When I asked him why BHA couldn't help me, he said that I didn't make enough money now, and couldn't afford thier fees.

Mr. Caswell never told me what the price of the fee was, thank god! He stammered on for about another 15 minutes about the glory of BHA and how they could guarantee me a job. Mr. Caswell made another appointment for me to come in, and that was that. I left with a feeling of uncertainty with the questionairre that they gave me to fill out and fax back.

After getting home and talking to my family about this, my step-father told me to research the company on the BBB website, and of course BHA has a high rating with BBB. Luckily, I wasn't satisfyied with what the BBB had on it's website; and I decided to look further.

I stumbled across the Rip Off Report's site, and couldn't be happier that I did. I have come to the conclusion, after much reading, that I am going to cancel my next appointment and take my chances with what I have. Thank you Rip Off Report !!!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
