Complaint Review: Bernard Haldane Associates

I also, have almost been a victim of Bernard Haldane. Luckily, my husband did some research prior to dropping off a check to the office in Denver on Monday a.m. I have since called to cancel the Monday appointment, sent an email (text below), and hope that no one else is caused any heartache! June 29, 2002 Dan Umbdenstock Vice President Bernard Haldane Associates 1625 Broadway, Suite 2550 Denver, CO 80202 Dear Mr. Umbdenstock: After our discussion on Saturday morning, I decided to do a bit of research on Bernard Haldane Associates. In my research to find clients of Bernard Haldane which have had positive results from their relationship with your company, I have only located negative information. For example, on http://www.badbusinessbureau.com, there alone are (at least 15) negative comments during the month of June 2002. These comments state that Bernard Haldane retains a fee, and the responsibility for contacts, research and interviews falls on the prospective employee in addition to several derogatory comments regarding the quality of resumes that Bernard Haldane produces. The two most interesting comments that I discovered were one from a former employee in the Bernard Haldane Indianapolis office, who has terminated her employment with Bernard Haldane due to what she views as unethical behavior by your company in taking money for service, and not providing the service promised. The second comment corresponds with a conversation that you, my husband and I had today that $6,600 was the lowest charge that Bernard Haldane authorizes. In fact, reviewing these complaints filed against Bernard Haldane shows that the service charges range from $3,000 upwards, reinforcing to me that Bernard Haldane has misrepresented themselves to me. As per the voicemail left for you this afternoon, I am envoking my right according to the contract signed to cancel my agreement for any reason. As I have not and will not meet with Bernard Haldane in regard to any services, absolutely no monies will be paid by me to Bernard Haldane Associates. I believe that representing Bernard Haldane Associates in the manner in which you have, and attempting to take advantage of professional unemployed people is highly unethical, if not illegal.
