Complaint Review: Bernard Haldane Associates

I was facing a possible downsizing at my job and was desparate for a remedy, something to help me connect with those underground opportunities that most of us do not have access to. I had seen the ads in the sunday papers for Bernard Haldane Associates in Overland Park, Kansas and called to make an appointment. They have a lovely and very impressive suite of offices and all of the associates are well dressed and spoken. I and my wife were very impressed whem we visited and especially after our first meeting with a Haldane consultant. He smooth talked us, built up our self esteem and promised that Haldane would put us in touch with so many prospective employers that our heads would spin. And then he hit us with their fee which was in excess of $5000.00. I immediately got up to leave but to my surprise my wife insisted that we think about it for awhile. Needless to say they snockered me into forking over the money. This has been the biggest mistake of my life. I went further into debt because I stupidly allowed myself to be swindled by a smooth talking con man. Haldane follows thru on none of their promises. For $5000 I was taught to write a new resume, videotaped in a mock interview and given online access to a career search engine, all of which I could have done for myself for $200. They have no contacts and they have no inside knowledge of job opportunities. And now they refuse to refund our money. This experience has nearly destroyed my marriage as I blame my wife for making me follow through with these bums. Had I trusted my instincts I would have walked out that first night. Please, think long and hard before getting involved with these people. Further research has revealed that they are being investigated by several state Attorney General offices. Beware!!!
