I too was suckered in be Bernard Haldane. My fee was $6,500. They high pressured sold me all the way. In fact they lied about virtually everything they did. They promised they would look for a job for me. I asked them if they were head hunters. They said they were more than Headhunters. Me and my wife were very specific about what we needed. We were new town and needed help in getting contacts and networking. They said they would get me contacts and tie me into the Bernard Haldane network with all the top companies in Columbus. They said that the program was primarily for people had jobs, but they would take me on anyway. Funny, when I went to their seminar, 70% of the clients there were laid off and out of work. They said they primarily dealt with executives who had years of corporate experience. Funny, there was one kid fresh out of school. Etc. When I tried to reach the sales person who signed me up. That salesperson would not return my calls. The 800 client service number was also a scam. Does anybody know if this is something the US Attornet General should be looking to? How do these crooks get into the Better Business Bureau? This is the Enron and Arthur Andreson of job search companies! Ben Columbus, Ohio

#3Consumer Suggestion

Thu, April 11, 2002

Ben,

No they aren't the Enron or Arthur Anderson of job employment companies-but you are on the right track! Those two companies actually provide a service, your office in Ohio sounds like it just has "no-show" cons working in that office.

Small claims court in Ohio will only net you $3,000. I suggest you file a criminal fraud complaint with your local police department for a confidence game.

Tell the BH office you plan to do this unless you get a full refund. Also let them know you've reported them on the Rip-Off Report and plan to send an Editorial to your local paper.

Tell them that they are nothing more than a flim-flam operation that takes advantage of the desperate. They give nothing of any value for the fee they demand. It's all smoke and mirrors. Tell them you are thinking of soliciting others from Ohio through the Rip-Off Report to make a complaint to the federal authorities. This is not a civil matter--it's criminal.

Good Luck.
