I was called by what I now understand to be a telemarketer as a result of my answering a job opportunity on the Web. Being unemployed for quite a while, now, I really needed to find something, and the guy said they were "Executive Recruiters". So, I went. When I got there, they changed me to a different "Vice President", Donald E. Garretson. I wondered how they had so many "Vice Presidents", but didn't go there...

After the first meeting, they asked me to come back with my wife. That was a bit weird, but, we got the babysitter and went today. Interestingly, we had told them in advance that we wouldn't be making a buying decision at the meeting today--that we would pray about it over the weekend. The pitch sounded very good. My biggest challenge is getting to the right people in an organization, and I know that. So, I was sold. But, fortunately as it now turns out, we have already dug into a lot of our savings, so there isn't a lot left. They gave us four options for payment, 1/2 now, 1/2 after I accept a job, and then 3 other payment plans, including one all in advance.

After I got home, I hit the net. Interestingly, this site was on the LAST PAGE on Google!!! They clearly know how to manipulate the Google engine.

So, here I am grateful that I found this site before signing the agreement, but incredibly disappointed that I now find myself back at square one in the job hunt.

Thanks to all of you for this site!

Bernard Haldane, Denver, Promises Results, that they do, indeed, have access to the "hidden job market"

#2Author of original report

After speaking with folks at Bernard Haldane in Denver, including the V.P. who spoke with me, they continue to state that they do, indeed, have access to the "hidden job market", and that they can help me find a position. The V.P. seems, from my perspective, to be a reasonable and ethical man. Because I have not, at this time, followed through and paid money and actually been "ripped off", I would encourage you to take my initial post as what it is: an experience that seems consistent with those that others have had at other offices, but which may, in fact, be able to help people to find jobs where other organizations have failed to do so. Since I have, at this time, not moved forward with them, I cannot judge this.

I give them credit for opening a dialog with me following my complaint to them about the actions in Kansas and Chicago. I recognize that they may be an honest, effective organization, given that they are a separate franchise from NY, Kansas, and Chicago. I just don't know whether or not they are and cannot judge. The promises and approach seem, from my perspective, effectively the same.

I would encourage others from Denver to make comment here with their experiences--good or not.

Given my financial situation, it may be moot for me--I do not believe that I can afford their services even if they could guarantee me a job in 2 months. I have to feed my family with what little I have.
