i bought a house from bert cox after seeing two other houses from him, one was already sold by the time i got to him, the other was too far. so he showed me this one and said hed fix it up for purchase, i agreed and gave him 5000 down expecting a decent finished product.(my fault for giving the money up front)

so i move in trusting by what i had seen before i would get a good house. no nothing like what he'd showed me before, holes on the walls, loose plumbing fixtures, leaky basement, unfinished unsulation missing vents, very shody work and very problematic things that a new home owner shouldn't have to deal with unles you are buying to fix it your self.

so unless you're buy from this guy to fix your own home fine take and go, but other wise get all the inspections on the list and do your own for your own piece of mind. he seems like an honest guy but you'll be surprised(unpleasantly so) the one guy who came back to finish the siding said enough to leave a bad taste. so beware when doing busines with this guy. bert cox/ 1 house.

i bought this house from bert cox which he assured me was propertly insulated, which was my main concern in moving to barrington so winter comes, and i feel draft everywhere even as the heat is on i feel cold air rushing in.

i moved in in june and, i've to fill propane twice already and am reaching a third by january. plus loose electrical wiring in my bedroom and missing switches. so as i warned before when dealing with this guy do all your due dilligence every single inspection you need to do, do it, it'll be worth it.

on his rebuttal to my previous report he said he put a new well, as if out of his conscientousness, the only reason he did that was because if he didn't we wouldn't close(the bank). so it had nothing to do with him being honest. some of the guys that came after to touch up a siding and plumbing told me how he run things. this guy should be shut down.

very upset with this experience

I am deeply sorry that Mr. Carabello Vazquez is disappointed.  He has a house with a new roof, new furnace, new siding, new doors, new slider, new windows, new carpet, new bathroom, and fully updated throughout.

The house layout and bedrooms were reconfigured per his direction.  We even put in a brand new drilled well at over double the cost of water treatment for the old well because we wanted to assure the best possible water supply. This was entirely at our expense and was never in the agreed upon scope of work. I agree that the fit and finish is not perfect and falls below our normal standards but we were rushed because Mr Carabello was anxious to move in early because his lease was up.

We stand behind our work and any outstanding issues are minor cosmetics. The closing was repeatedly delayed and he resided in the home for almost 6 weeks, rent free.  Again, I am surprised at his disappointment and have tried to reach him to address his concerns but have not received a response.
