We purchased the coverage from Best Buy when we financed a TV from them. At that time we were sold the insurance to cover if the principal borrower lost his employment, death, etc.

When the principal borrower did indeed loose his job, we filed a claim with the insurance at Best Buy. That was in February 2009. To date they still have not paid our monthly credit card bill and have absolutely no intention of doing so. Their excuse is that my husband is not receiving unemployment benefits because
his ex-employer is fighting the unemployment.
What ever you do, don't get stuck forking out $50.00 monthly for something that is absolutely no good. This is a rip-off and as far as we can tell it is a way for
Best Buy to steal your money. They do not pay for loss of employment at all.

We have sent all of the paperwork they have ever requested and still nothing and at last we have been told by Best Buy that is our problem not theirs. They just
do the paperwork for the insurance company, it is not really them. Well, let me tell you Best Buy did not mind taking our money every month for the insurance payment and when you have the bottom line, we did all of our paperwork with Best Buy, not some insurance company. As far as I can tell, there probably isn't even
any coverage, just extra money going to Best Buy.

If your husband lost his job, and was collecting unemployment, that proves to the insurance company that your husband is not a fault so they will pay.

If your husband lost his job and it IS his fault and he cannot collect unemployment, then they will not pay because it is HIS fault he lost his job.

Seriously, if it is someone's fault they lose there job, why should an insurance pay for it?
