Best Buy Geek Squad Tulsa Rip off/dishonesty Tulsa Oklahoma
I brought a computer with a defective video card to the local Best Buy Geek Squad. I have to pay up front $199.00 even if they were totally unable to know what was wrong with the computer. After a full week I got a phone call letting me know that my computer had a major mother board and processor related problems, and also need a new video card. I was invited to buy a brand new computer at the store, and can as a favor, use the $199.00 for a down payment on it. Since I have no intention to change computer, the other one was only 13 months old and I do also want to get my files back, I drove by to the store and ask for my computer back and a refund.
After being told to leave, I finally get a partial refund of $140.00 and get my computer back. I order online a new video card for $40.00, installed it and my computer works just perfect. No mother board or any processor related problems. I will not recommand Geek Squad to anyone in need of a serious computer problem and will never ever shop at any Best Buy location.

In general for most people, if you are confident the computer is aok but that u need the data off of it... you will be better off trying to do what this guy did on your own or getting a pc savvy neighbor to do it for u.
In my case a pc in my den, I use soley for browing the web crashed...but its data is on a networked hd in my office so nothing lost.
The pc was too old and too small to even try to fix... so I canabilized it for future possible use and put the leftovers in the trash.
IN my case If I ever take a pc to any major store, they will have replace the pc with a like unit if they somehow crash it or even say they did.
I usually make sure they know that I am every bit a technician as they are.
