We purchased a complete In Home Theater system in November 2006 to the tune of over seven thousand dollars.

Best Buy had sent out installation crews five times to correct the fact that all the components do not work due to " wrong cables " which they supplied, which we paid $$$ for as well as the $$$ for the special remote which was incorrectly programmed. We were told they would return to fix our systems and that was back in December 2006.

It is now February and no one has contacted us and the problems still exist.Needless to say we did notify American Express, who we used for this purchase, and spoke with a supervisor.

The supervisor even agreed that we should not have to pay for this system until the job was completed satisfactorily. American Express had even sent Best Buy a letter pertaining to our disputing the charge and still no response.

We were even charged an additional fee for the installation crew to return on the second visit. The installation job we consider shabby.

To note below, before the units were to be installed,
We had special hand made shelving constructed for these units to match the antique fireplace mantel.

We had the old radiators removed and re-sheet rocked the walls.Hired an electrical company to run additional outlets for all the components.Hired a plumbing company to remove the old furnace in the basement directly below where the installers would be able to run all the wires without the wires being visible in the living room.

s****.> PS, and No 10% off coupon was credited.

Hire the installer not the company

Best Buy pays their installation technicians around $8-$15 per hour, yet charge their customers around $100 an hour. A skilled technician would not work for these wages, therefore, it is best to find a local and reputable small company which actually has well qualified technicians that are being paid for the job. We used a company called JSE Home in Knoxville, TN and they did a perfect job. They are a small and reputable company, which actually lets their technicians get paid real wages. If you are in knoxville, TN check out jsehome.com, if not, search on google and find a local company in your area. ALWAYS make sure to do some research on the company before hiring them. If you do this, you will get a good job done for you at a good price!!

Sounds like a normal day at best buy. This is what happens when they have youngsters trying to do the job. Most times they are not trained..
