Complaint Review: Best Buy Motors Or A&R Distribution Or Giant Mart

on 10/11/2008 paid $200(refundable fee) to enter an auction, after bidding on a vehicle for $2650, my son was told he needed to pay a 50% deposit. The cashier requested $1500 after handing the money to her I noticed that it was $3650 written on the receit, we immediately went to the auctioneer and told him that was incorrect Mr. Shalev then told us that we should not worry about that because we would get the vehicle for the $2650 bid price that we had won. The next day we came to pick up the car we were told by Mr. Shalev that he had bidded against us and the price would be $3650, when we told him no we wanted a refund he told us no refunds, if we wanted anything out of the deal we should return with $3400 more dollars and he would give us a credit so we could bid again on the same car. I refused his offer and reported him to the BBB. Then went back to him and told him that the BBB said to try to work with him. He told us if we were going to take that route we would get nothing and was escorted out of his establishment by his security detail. In June of 2006 Mr. Shalev assets was frozen by the Texas Attorney General for defrauding customers millions of dollars under the name A&R Distributors. I have spoken to six other people were at the auction on the same day I was there and was told that they had the same or similar problems. He preys on the poor and people he believes will not report him.
