Best Buy On 7/3/2007, I bought a Vaio notebook for $1,399.99 - Last week, 7/22/2007 they advertized a same notebook for $1,149.99. Since they have a policy which "guaranteed low price", I went back to the store and ask to be honored with that offer, but I was denied that offer, based on their return policy of 14 days (or 30 days?) from the date of purchase. On 7/3/07 I bought a Vaio notebook for $1,399.99 from Best Buy. Last week 7/22/07 they displayed the same model of mine, for $1,149.99. Since they have a policy of "Guaranteed Low Price", I went back to the store and asked to be considered for that low price guaranty up to 30 days from the date of purchase, but they denied me that, based on their return policy which according to them is 14 days from the date of purchase.
The following is a copy of their return policy:
30-DAY RETURN PERIOD We accept returns or exchanges 30 days from the original purchase. Please review the exceptions below.
14-DAY RETURN PERIOD We accept returns or exchanges 14 days from the original purchase on computers, monitors, notebook computers, projectors, camcordes, digital cameras, radar detectors and video games purchased as used.
(This is a true copy of the first two paragraph of Best Buy policy on return items)

The price match policy says 30 days (14 days for select categories) and the select categories are (suprise, suprise) anything in the 14 day return period!

Best Buy advertises that if you find the same item for less money, or they have the same item go on sale, within 30 days, they will refund the difference to you. You need to go back to another store, talk to the manager and show them their own policy and force them to refund the difference.

This has nothing to do with the return policy. It has all to do with the store not doing the right thing. They should honor the sale price since you have just bought the computer. Best Buy is a terrible company esp. when it comes to honoring their service plans and standing behind their products. I suggest that you never shop their again, there are plenty of good stores out there that would indeed give you the refund in this case. Those are the stores to do business with, not Best Buy.

Well i don't understand this report. The recipt clearly states that the 14 day policy is on notebooks which you bought. It does suck that it went on sale 19 days after you bought it, but because of the policy (which WAS printed on your recipt) they can't do anything for you. Its not there fault, I think you should remove this.. Its not fair, they did nothing wrong.
