Best Buy ripoff, Lied, misrepresented, lost me as a customer Bellevue Washington

I bought a cannon power shot digital camera two years ago and my 1 year old son dropped it in the toilet. I had bought this camera online and had no return policy. But I needed a new camera I went to Best Buy and told my story. The sales person told me that if I would have bought it there and bought the best buy psp warrenty that it would be covered and I could get it replaced. So I bought the same camera again and bought the replacement plan. It is now 11 month later and I tried to use the camera during the birth of my new child but it did not work. The camera will not open. I had a similar problem a few month ago before going on vacation they told me that I would have to leave it with them and they would ship it out to be repaired. I told them that I needed that camera for a vacation to Disney Land. The tech looked at the camera and did something with a small screw driver to the front panel and got it to work. I used the camera on vacation and then have not used it much until the other day.

Today I took the camera in to be replace dand they told me that they could not because the camera had a scratch on the corner and looked as if it had been dropped which I sure it was over the past 11 month. They said that they would only be able to refund the remainder of my warranty. I told the that I was told by the sales person that it should be covered when I bought the camera. They said it must have been a mistake because that is not correct.

I then took the camera to Costco and asked them if I could return this camera if I had dropped it and it no longer works they said that I could. I was not trying to return the camera I just wanted to know if I would have bought it there if they would give me a refund and they would have.

My suggestion do not buy anything at Best buy and never buy the added warrenty. I have now bought my third camera in three year but this time at Costco should be my last.
