My husband bought me a Gateway Notebook last summer and the Service Contract to go with it. Last month the mouse wasn't working right, so I took it in to the Geek Squad at Best Buy in McKinney, Texas. The first Geek said as far as he could see there wasn't anything wrong with it, but he called over another Geek to look at it. They decided to go look at a floor model to compare the two mouses.

At that point, they decided the spring on the mouse had sprung, and it would have to be sent off to be fixed. They noted my Service Contract and said I didn't owe them anything.

Today I got a call from Geek Squad at Best Buy, and they said it would cost over $200. to get it fixed, because a Gateway technician said there was PHYSICAL ABUSE on the mouse. Therefore they would be unable to service my contract. I'm a 65 year old teacher, no children in the household, know nothing about gaming. I was shocked they thought I had pysically abused my mouse. Go figure. RIP-OFF!!!

After I filed this rip-off report, I reported them to the BBB. Today I got a reply from the BBB with a letter from Best Buy apologizing and saying they would send me a gift card for the amount of the repairs. They also said my service contract would still be active for any future repairs. Fair enough.
