COMPLETE SCAM! The quote to price change 4 times throughout our process, demanding cash and wire payments. We made the terrible mistake of using them for a cross country move, it took us three weeks to receive our stuff, which employee "George" found to be funny, anytime we would call for an update he would threaten that he would delay the move longer, as we were annoying him. The truck broke down multiple times on it's way here leaving our stuff on the side of the road.
At this point we had to file a police report where they investigated with the repair shop. When our stuff finally arrived the drivers asked for a $100 cash tip before unloading.. They then refused to unload until we tipped. We had over $1,900 in damages and missing items, as everything was literally thrown into a box truck. At times the crew had no idea which items were ours or not. This company is a shell and a fraud, I would not wish this company on my worst enemy! It will only be a matter of time until the BBB shuts them down for the scam that they are.

I'm not sure why a 2nd report needed to be filed, however you made the decision to trust your belongings to people you hadn't even met until they showed up at your door. It's sort of like having your child date someone they met onlne - if that sounds like horrible judgment for anyone to make, then you can now see why trusting something as important as your possessions to someone you never met is also a really bad idea.
You now have the fun job of filing a claim. Unfortunately, you selected a low cost mover who would only offer you $0.60 per pound in valuation, which means your 50lb couch will net you $30, and $0 for your missing items. What's more is that you cannot sue the mover for the difference between what the items were worth vs. what you received in a valuation reimbursement because of something called the Carmack Amendment. Carmack is Federal law that prohibits consumers from suing for anything additional $$ outside of the contract. You cannot sue them for fraud, stress, or any other civil tort.
Filing a police report will also do nothing because under the law, nothing was stolen. Your goods were in the possession of the mover and since you needed to pay before delivery, and you signed over your goods at the time of the move to the mover until delivery was made, how could they possibly be stolen? Since you still owed the money, they didn't deliver until they were paid.
Finally, there is nothing this company did that was illegal - all of this is perfectly legal under the law. You may not like the way they operate, and I don't, but that's the law and you cannot penalize anyone for operating a company within the law except to not do business with any mover online. If you had done any research on the moving industry, then you would have never ever gone online to look for a mover. And as I said earlier, the BBB is a private organization that serves its members and sometimes the community. They have no power to shut down a company.
