Late last year I was shopping for an HD camera. The Canon HV20 seemed good, and I contacted Best Price who promised they could deliver it in three days, $399.00 +58.00 delivery. Before I got off the phone, the saleman said "don't you want the LCD screen" and I said it comes with it, and he said "no". He then asked if I wanted to "upgrade" to a "magnesium metal body". He would throw in a Canon OEM battery. For another $400.00 I agreed to these things.

My camera arrived 8 days later. The body was plastic and there was no battery.
It was missing other promised items and full of cheap junk that to the untrained eye MIGHT look expensive.

I called to complain. After a lengthy wait on hold a sales manager said "Sorry for the misunderstanding. Theres no magnesium body." He disputed the fact that I did not get the battery, trying to tell me the small internal battery was in fact the battery promised--he also said call Canon to see if all the camera came with the LCD screen attached or optional as his sales rep charged me for. He offered to take off 250.00 off the 1000.00--remember the price was 399.00 per the ad.

I called Canon. They started laughing (meaning no insult) and in effect told me I was duped. The cameras come complete and are a plastic/magnesium composite but not pure metal.

I called BP back but they would not make any other arrangements. I was out 150.00 for "restocking"and 58.00 shipping--a pricey lesson in knowing what you are buying before you order. And they told ME I was "difficult".

These people were the most obnoxious New York a______s. I have friends from NY and they are not like this. If I did not have a strong personality and unwillingness to give up, they would have railroaded me into keeping the camera.

They are liars and unscrupulous in their business ethics. It will all be a "misunderstanding" no matter how much they lie. You will pay in cash for your mistake.

Steer well clear of them. They should not be allowed to do business on the internet.
