Best Toys Of The Year - Delta Visuals ripoff Unethical toy sales tied up my money unable to get gift for daughter Tyler Texas
I purchased a Fisher Price Camera (To my 4 year old, From Santa) at Best toys of the Year/Delta Visuals on Nov. 27th. for $75 with shipping. My card was charged.
On Dec. 4th I received a refund from Delta Visuals/Best Toys of the Year with a link to a note below stating We are terribly sorry that it has taken so long to process your order. We have pinpointed the problem to Google checkout. Because they have not forwarding scheduled payouts to us on time, we have been unable to process your orders.
We have been migrating to a new website over the past week and we invite you to resubmit your order on our new site, www.besttoysoftheyear.com [...]
...which had the item I had purchased already listed for nearly double and triple the price I paid!!!
I have emailed the company and the claim it is google's fault. And invite me to give them more money. LOL. By purchasing the camera at a much higher price on their new website! What about the camera I already bought? What happened to that one???
I disagree with their choice to list and sell (they already took my money!) the toy at one price and then to decide to sell it at double the price when it becomes a hot item-in the meantime the company is tying up my $75 for who knows how long, and I do not have the opportunity to buy the toy at the price it was 2 weeks ago, before they took my money!!! It is listed on Amazon for $90 and their website for *$120* nearly double what I originally paid and I don't have my refund yet-
Warning...if it is important, (i.e. from Santa) stick with TRUSTED companies like Amazon!!! Learn from my mistake :(
They should have honored the sale-it was their choice not to, and it is my choice to report them and to tell others do not shop here! Unethical company!!!

Well, Torey, I guess the moral is: Don't use PayPal.

I have been avoiding sellers (read:ebay) who require PayPal, and the latest PayPal terms of use did nothing to reverse my decision. And PayPal wants one of my bank accounts to "verify" my account! So I wonder why PayPal cannot help you....
I let my PayPal account die.

I filed my own report on here against this company. I used Paypal when I made my payment, and according to Paypal they DID receive my money (contrary to their posts about google checkout). Of course they gave their own sob story on that one too. Problem here is I have not received one dime back yet.
I filed a claim with Paypal which was ruled in my favor, but since the seller has no money in their account I still can't get my money back and still have nothing tangible to show for it.
My question is, if they have my money what is their excuse for my product. And how many other people did not receive refunds besides me. I'm just curious if anybody has received their items from this company, or if they are just taking money from people desperate to buy the gifts their children want for the holidays.

I just wanted to thank everyone for reading this post! And for the supportive comments.
When I went to best toys of the year "new" website and saw the camera prices they were charging-on something I had a receipt for, and didn't receive-I was completely blown away. How could they could do that?
That I have taken the time to alert others, (and that someone read it) has given me a great deal of relief!
At the time I purchased the toy, Amazon was out of stock. Once the new company started its dance, Amazon had it listed over $30 less.
I have moved on. And next time I can't find something on a trusted site I will move on right away! I also believe strongly about using only credit cards on the net-it is much easier to get a refund, and I hear it is easier to reverse fraudulent charges.
Thanks again-and I hope everyone has a great holiday. As for the company that started this, I would HOPE they learned a valuable lesson on the responsibilities of business, and they deal ethically with future customers, but I am not so sure about that.

Jenna, I am so sorry about your frustrations regarding a gift for a child. I don't have any, but have numerous "official" nieces and nephews, and even more "unofficial" ones lololol. THEY are what have been Christmas for me. Being disappointed regarding a child's gift is worse than any other gift for me. At least when my mother's gift was delayed/not coming, I could tell her what I had tried to get, and why it didn't happen. The thought definitely did count!
Anyway, you got it right - only shop trusted names on the internet. I hate to be an "anti-new-internet-business" advocate, but it's just not worth it. I noted on another post that I don't see how the internet really IS a good place, just booming with opportunity, for ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY to start their own business, and rake in cash. It just isn't the truth, as far as I can tell.
The ones who are raking in cash seem to be the scammers.
Another post regarding Christmas gifts for children that didn't come also were from an unknown retailer, who I am guessing had "too good to be true" prices for new DVDs. Those were the only "new" gifts the children were to receive, and they never came. In hopes of saving some money, this poor woman lost all that she had available for a new present for each child. If she had spent a little more with Amazon, as you say, much, much better chance the kids would've gotten their new gift. I feel so bad for her, that is just revolting, as I'm sure if she COULD'VE spent more, she probably would've.
Again, I am so sorry to be advising people to stay away from unknown internet businesses, but that's one of the risks of starting an internet business. Very hard to build that trust when you don't have a storefront where people can physically come in and seek recompense if they have problems.
You seem to be taking the situation very well, and I'm so glad. Your outrage over the almost doubling of price, very understandable.
One more thing - never use a debit card for ANYTHING online. You didn't say you did, I don't believe, but someone mentioned it, and it's worth repeating. NEVER COMRPOMISE YOUR CASH IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT FOR ANY REASON! It's too hard to get back in a timely fashion. I am a former bank employee, so I do have real world experience backing up my statement of never using debit cards online.
Hope everyone has wonderful holidays, and spread the word about this website! The more people who know it about, the more chance we have of STOPPING THE SCAMMERS. And - not speaking on behalf of Ripoff Reports at all! - but the site DOES accept donations. :)

I fully understand the explanation, however I do not accept the explanation. There wasn't a disclaimer on my purchase stating that the price may double or triple. Or a statement that I wasn't actually purchasing the item at the time.
The payout system should have been tested before items listed for sale.
I would hardly call this a "service."
I posted on the web exactly what happened to me, to let others decide as they will.
This company needs to take responsibility. They should consider themselves fortunate that people are willing to give them double and triple the price for that toy. I do contribute to charity, but I do not choose to support this company. I feel they are acting unethically by charging those prices, and setting up faulty payment systems that were not tested.
A toy for sale should be delivered at the price advertised at the time of purchase, simple.
I have no interest in giving this company anymore money. I simply want the complaint filed so that others know what kind of company they are dealing with. I am not the only person that saw fit to post their situation with this company on the net.
And how dare they request me to keep quiet about it!

Here's the message that I rec'd (hmmm, you'd think that I'd just give up, huh) when I once again tried the addy you gave:
Oops...You found a page that doesn't seem to exist...
Your browser should automatically redirect you in 5 seconds, click here to go to the homepage.
I did actually hit on a website for deltavisuals, but only to get this message. Bev, you sounded a tad bit snippy in your last response, and I apologize for aggravating you, but apparently, I'm not the only one that can't seem to get to your web addy with your explanations that are listed for all to see. Sorry, three strikes, you're out in my book.
PS And how did your problems with Google have anything to do with the customers that purchased from you in good faith? NOTHING! If you walk into a store, and an item is mismarked, they honor the price that you see in front of you. In this case, refunding the money and trying to charge more the next time around didn't make good business sense. If you did this on ebay, would you cancel the finished auction, then try and resell to the same person at a higher price? If this is proof of your business sense and morals, I wouldn't spend too much getting a new website going, because you're not going to be in business very long.

I have questioned others who say they have no problem getting to the page by removing spaces; however, we have placed a link on the delta site. CLICK!
Please see http://www.deltavisuals.com/besttoysoftheyear.com
This url was placed on every cancelled order/refund at the google checkout. WE NEVER RECEIVED ONE PAYOUT FROM THEM!!!. I tried to explain to this lady that we never received her money. We are a shopping service and we post the best prices we find; however, we cannot help that we could not purchase her item (because we never got her funds) and that the vendors had raised prices by the time we had to move to a merchant account who had the time to process our acct. It was not until after we had setup the google acct and been taking orders, sending numerous emails back and forth to Google, that Google informed us they would not allow pre-order sales. By that time, it was too late to do anything but cancel the orders and refund the money. By refund, I mean having Google refund. They never processed funds TO us. They were in possession of these funds the whole time. She is asking we honor money we never received. Jenna simply does not understand this. By the time we setup a merchant account and moved to another server that could handle the amount of traffic (both orders and emails), vendor prices had gone up. We explained we were only passing on the difference in cost to us. I'm sorry she doesn't understand. We have apologized. She is obviously either vindictive or just doesn't care that we were victims of Google (I agree they had nothing to do with our prices, only that they NEVER passed on the funds to us)and that we tried to do the right thing by everyone as quickly as we could. I have posted a copy of the payout schedule from the Google website at the above referenced url. As you can see Google never processed one payout to us. Again, I'm sorry this happened to her. I'm sorry it happened to us. We have had many customers who read the posting and have come to the new site to re-purchase items, fully understanding the situation and THE COST RISE. We have not acted dishonestly nor do we ever intend to do so.

and the subsequent responses to it.
This is not a good web address no matter how you try to reach it. It actually turns into a bot style spam address when entered into the address bar and removing the spaces as you suggest.
There is no way to get to a "Best Toys of the Year" website through delta visual which there should be if it indeed were hosted through them-which is what the configuration you posted suggests.
This also does not explain why you are asking people who paid one price to pay 3 times more when they had reached a previously referred website.
Google has nothing to do with your price setting abilities. The people paid for an item at the price listed and expect that item to be delivered intact and functioning as expected.
To the OP-file a complaint to the AG in your state as well as the state of the alleged seller. Also file with the FTC online at their site.

Than the one posted in the other thread. And SURPRISE! That addy didn't get me any further than the last. Simply an error page and does not exist. Again, I did a copy and paste, removed the spaces (as you directed) and still don't know one more thing than I knew before.
BTW, I'm NOT an angry customer, only a consumer that likes to be informed. If someone has found a wonderful website, I check it out. If, however, they've reported a website that fails to meet their expectations, I check that out too. I don't take anyone's word for what is going on, I always go to the website in question, try and determine if the posters story holds water (prices too high, no contact information, incorrect contact information, etc) and make my decision from there. In this case, I've been attempting to verify that what you, Bev, have said in 2 posts is true... and I'm still unable to do this with the information that you provided. This leads me to believe that the frustration expressed by the OP's is genuine, and should be taken into account.
Good Luck Jenna, and I h*e you've located what you were looking for!

just remove the spaces!
We are terribly sorry for your inconvenience. We did not tie up your money, Google did. If you will look at the above url you will also see the payout schedule we had from Google. They repeatedly sent us emails saying they were getting to us as quickly as possible. We finally initiated the refunds after becoming very concerned about time for our customers.
I know that Christmas brings a sense of urgency to get your shopping done and that understandably some people will just be angry no matter how much we apologize. But please don't add insult to injury out of spite.

Although I know how disappointing that it can be to want a certain item for your child for Christmas, you might want to consider finding another source. Even with a rebuttal from the persons that are running this, it seems that the website is 'unaccessible'. I hope that you rec the money that they claim has been refunded, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
As the mom of 10, I spend a lot of time looking for bargains for that special one thing that they are truly wanting.... check out TRU, major chain drug stores, and other major retailers online for the product that you're seeking..... (one of the major drug chains has a similar item this week for $30 which isn't a toy, but will hold up to what you're looking for.... cheaper, and more reliable)
Good luck in your attempt to get your money returned, and in finding that special gift!
