My husband purchased a "Best Vacations Ever" vacation package a year ago. Originally it was for $500 but he was convinced another $1000 would give us really special treatment, so he committed to $1000 for a stay in Costa Rica at Villas Sol.

Last week we received a phone call to inform us our deal was "expiring" in a few days and we would have to pay another $499 to extend it.

My husband was quite angry and basically told them that money doesn't expire and that they had had the use of our money for a year and he wasn't interested in giving them any more. By the end of the call, the $499 had been reduced to $99.

My husband said he would have to talk to me about this and was told they would call back on monday at noon. Of course, there was no call so the next day my husband called the number the fellow (Cory) had given him and asked to speak to him. The woman who answered the phone had no idea who Cory was.

She now told my husband the same story the other fellow had. When asked why we hadn't been notified sooner, she said they had sent an email 6 months ago. Upon checking this she admitted that the hadn't sent us an email.

Then the age issue came up. It seems now we don't qualify for Costa Rica any more because of my husbands age (76). He asked for it to be put into my name (I'm 67) and was told no. There was absolutely no discussion about age requirements when my husband first committed to this.

It seems we now qualify for very few locations, none of which interest us. It was specifically Costa Rica that convinced us to buy this package.

I hope anyone who has been ripped of by this company will post their experiences with this company online as a forewarning to anyone thinking of giving them their hard earned money.
