Complaint Review: BestChoiceDigital

I have been looking on the Internet and at local discount department stores for the Fuji Finepix E550, and after doing a further search I found bestchoicedigital.com advertising theirs for $199!! Yahoo, what a deal!

After checking the item on line I saw there was not description on what was included in the box (most legit sites show accessories included) so I decided to call their 800 number to find out before I hit 'purchase'.

I called and after the 2nd attempt at trying to get a human (red flag number 1) I spoke with a man who said that they had the camera in stock and that I made a very fine choice in my choice, and did I want to just place my order over the phone? Sure, why not I said and so proceeded to give them my cc number.

After that the man stated that they had a special that if I bought one 128MB memory card he would send a second one for free. Well I thought I was getting another pretty good deal until I looked on their site and saw that they were selling their 128MB memory card for $178!!!! So I politely declined and stated that I could get it locally for about $35. Then he proceeded to offer me a 1 year warrantee for $100 more. Not an extended warrantee, mind you, but a US warrantee (red flag number 2). I said that all products should come with one standard and he said that this one did not, that it was a European warrantee.

Well you can imagine the thoughts going through my mind. "What am I getting myself into?" So I told him to cancel the order altogether and that I would find this camera somewhere else. He said he would not place the order, but I can tell you that I will be checking my cc bill for the next few months for any charges from this shady company. If I do get charged after all you can bet I will be contacting an attorney! But I will be sweating for the next few months.

BUYER BEWARE!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST! BestChoiceDigital.com is NOT the best choice after all.
