Beware of Christopher Laub Insurance Agency and Justin Peterson (agent) and Chris Laub (Owner)  Our  business had insurance with this agency for four years without any claims or problems arise.  Justin Peterson was our agent and we went over the renewal policy every year to make changes, and make sure we were covered in case of any injuries.  Justin seemed to take a couple weeks to reply to most emails or phone call, and most of the time I would have to send several emails or phone calls before I would get a response.

This past year we had a claim come through with one of our clients who got injured while using our services.  I gave it to Justin Peterson who ran it through our insurance.  After numerous phone calls and emails he finally replied after 4-5 weeks, and stated the insurance company would not cover the claim because they don't cover it unless you have the insurance in a business name, and they aren't going to do business insurance anymore so they are cancelling our policy.  I said to him "Why wouldn't you put this under our business name? You knew what we were doing?"  Come to find out from Chris Laub (owner) the insurance Justin Peterson set up for our company has never covered business insurance at any time.

To make a long story short Justin Peterson lied about the coverage of Insurance he gave us, and put our company at risk.  He tried to cover and hid his tracks so he wouldn't get in trouble, he would not admit his fault in giving us the wrong coverage.  I went to the owner Christopher Laub and let him know of the issues we had, he seemed very concerned and seemed to work with me about coming to a resolution.  I finalized the settlement with the suing party instead of taking it to trial so we didn't have to go through the worry, time, and expense.  Chris Laub agreed to pay a 1/3 of the settlement cost plus attorney fees for the mistake of his agent Justin Peterson; which our attorney said is giving Laub Insurance a huge break!

Our attorney said Laub Insurance is really responsible for the whole settlement amount for mis-representing insurance coverage by the agent, and the attorney suggested we bring Laub Insurance into the law suit and make them responsible for the claim.  I didn't want to go through 3-4 years of court proceeding, so I felt it would be best to settle for a reasonable amount with the plaintiff, and split the cost.  After sending the settlement papers to Chris Laub he would not return any phone calls or emails.  After four weeks I did receive a check from Chris Laub for $450.00 less than the amount he owed.  I guess he felt he wouldn't pay for his portion of the attorney fees, I'm not sure he would never reply to me. 

Laub Insurance agency did our company a huge disservice by not getting us the right coverage, they tried to hide, and lied about the issue when a claim was issued, and there customer service about getting back to a customer is unbelievable; taking sometimes 3-5 weeks or never.  I wouldn't want anyone to take these kinds of risks for personal or business insurance through Laub Insurance Agency so customers beware or this insurance agency in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This account is true and accurate!

It is unfortunate that there is a Rip off report for the Laub Insurance Agency because I have received WONDERFUL service from them as have MANY of my friends and family that I have referred over the past 5 years.  I have been using Justin Peterson as a personal insurance agent and for my husband's business' insurance agent and have been very pleased. 

As for our personal experience, being a small business owner, getting decent health insurance for our family has been a complete nightmare.  I have a minor health issue which the insurance companies have turned into a ridiculous issue.  Justin helped me go to a doctor, get all the appropriate documentation to show the health issue was minor which opened the door to many options for our family.  Then, he had an hour long meeting with me regarding what type of doctor's visits we've had in the past and then what type of coverage made the most financial sense.  We were approved by multiple health insurance companies and I was able to chose what was best for my family.  THIS WAS A HUGE RELIEF!

As for my husband's company, he has astronomical worker's comp insurance due to the amount of employees and the type of industry they do work.  He has had a few major accidents and Justin was immediate to respond, let my husband know exactly what to do and went through all the necessary paperwork with my husband's secretary.  One of the accidents, my husband's employee was badly hurt, had to have immediate surgery and Justin made multiple calls to my husband that night just to make sure he and the employee are alright. 

Since of course we trust Laub's Insurance Agency with our life insurance and homeowners insurance, I feel secure that in any emergency, we will be taken care of - as a family and as a business.
