I responded to an unsolicited email that offered a "Free eBay kit" to learn how to use the auction site. I had some items that could be sold from a recent household remodel.

The Asian lady that I talked to - she called me - was happy to send me the free kit, but I would have to pay the shipping charge. To do that I had to give her my VISA number.

Then the hard sales pitch began. This was really not eBay even thought they used the same Logo as eBay. They had a warehouse of goods that I could access to build my business. To build a business was not my intention. I declined the offer. But the lady would not take "no" for an answer. I was adamant about not wanting any thing else but the kit. I finally told her to forget the whole deal. I did not want to obligate myself to any other "opportunities".

A week or so later, I began getting solicitation calls from salesmen representing various types of Home Businesses. I told them I had not requested any HB info and that I lived in a state that had a "No call" list. The first salesmen said they were just answering my request for HomeBusiness info. Finally a Salesman answered some of my questions and I realized that the "Free eBay Kit" company had sold my contact info. I told him that my intentions were not to start a business. Those calls stopped.

When I received my December credit card bill, I discovered three (3) charges from Bidfuel. They totalled $42.82. My husband called the company and told them to cancel the charges and to refund my money. They claim to have a telephone recording of the transaction so he asked that a copy be sent to us. They promised to send an email canceling my warehouse "opportunities". Neither of these things have been done.

This is a scam, scam, scam!!!

I have filed a dispute claim with my Visa provider and told them to flag that company. I do not want them to accept anymore charges from them and they should reverse the charges to this company. I will not pay the charges.

I will be sending copies of my info to the state agencies involved.

Bidfuel unauthorized charges

#2Author of original report

Mon, January 07, 2008

According to my credit card company, Bidfuel has credited my account with two of the unauthorized charges. They would not credit the 99 cent charge that was supposed to be mailing cost for an eBay kit. I never received the kit but Bidfuel said that was not their problem, it was the USA post office. My credit card company has told me that they will cover the 99 cents. It took persistance and reports to the Nevada BBB, and my certified letter was never signed for by the accounting dept of the business.

I still believe they are a fraudulent company.
