I went there, really happy to know that there was a Specialized dealer in the area. I left there insulted and feeling robbed. Poor service job, horrible, terrible attitude of the service manager. This is a bike shop mainly ran by Mountain bikers, where Specialized is more for road bikers. Other than the owner, staff is unprofessional, seldom supervised. Their service manager was very rude to me. I am happy there is Bike Lane just a few blocks North and another Kart and Bike in Magnolia, and if I need Specialized service, I'll just head to Bike Barn down South. If I were the owner I'd either train his staff on people skills or fire the service manager.


I'm never going back there again and I am not recomending them to anyone. Their "technical" service was terrible. They claim to be the "best shop in the area". Trust me, I've seen many, they are not in my opinion. I feel sorry for the owner, he seems to be a nice trusting guy. I wonder why he let's his staff treat customers the way they treated me.

Roadie, I'm really glad that you received the service I expected but did not get.

I'm here to inform others of what happened to me, and to alert others.

I spoke well of the owner, although I can't believe why he didn't step in when his employee went way accross reasonable service standards.

I don't consider myself a consumer making a scene just because things didn't go "my way", I really don't understand your comment here. When I experienced difficulties with them, there were no other clients present, so I can't understand why you would make such a strong assertion. Also, your innuendo that I'm actually trying to defer business to others as a reason for this post is incorrect.

As to the actual ripoff, I was charged a service that wasn't done. I have pictures and a bill to prove it. I am not going to describe what it was. I felt physically threatened by their employee.

Unlike what you say in your statement, I have well over $9,000 spent on Specialized bikes, and I at least paid bikeland for over $600 in service and accesories.

When going to other bike shops in the area, I was told that it was a common comment amongst clients that some people working in Bikeland did not treat customers right. Another of their former clients, a person I met in a ride, told me she had the exact same problem.

Roadie I hope you keep going to wherever they treat you well. If this is your case in Bikeland, I'm happy for you. Maybe my complaint worked in some manner. It wasn't my experience with them, and after paying them what I consider a lot of money and having not received the services I paid for, I have the right in saying so to the world.

    I am a regular at BIKELAND and have been helped by every one of the employees there at some point or other. I also have been helped out a great deal by the Manager of the store and he has been nothing of the sort as described by "THE WOODLANDER".
    The manager has helped me make minor adjustments to my bike (even though I didn't purchase it there) and also helped me locate a fix to one specific problem I was having with a front deraileur. Another time he fixed the brakes on my little daughter's bike (also not purchased in their store) so she would be safe. All this appreciated help was done at no charge to me, even though I tried to offer some payment for services, the gentleman was nice enough not to charge me.
    This shop is run with the utmost professionalism and the employees are very kind and very knowledgeable. I find that "THE WOODLANDER" has written a crock of bull describing my favorite bike shop and that this person is probably trying to just promote other bikeshops. Either that or they are probably a very winy person that is used to getting their way by making a big scene in a store and when they don't get what they want, they bad mouth everyone involved except themselves.
    Furthermore I don't see the "RIPOFF" here by which this website is for. This person obviously is just writing hateful nonsense to fulfill an agenda.  Shame on you.
