My mother was sent a letter saying she was preapproved for a car loan to purchase a car and plus she won a guaranteed prize of $100, 1000 dollar shopping spree or ten thousand dollars.

we got there the salesman told us we won the shopping spree which we still haven't recieved and before the evening was over he gave my mother the car keys and told her to enjoy her new car after she signed tons of paper work. we did not trade our old car but was told by the salesman to go on and sell it and also was told to go get insurance on the new car which was now hers. well we got the insurance for the car the following monday. paid the down payment for the insurance and my mother was happy with her new car. mind you they never told neither of us that was a spot delivery and it could be taken. she was told it was her car. they took a check for a down payment which they still have and told us how much the monthly payment would be and when the first one would be due. well the next week we recieved a call asking us to come back to the dealership to finish some forms. well my mother says they sounded frantic so she asked them was there a problem, they said no everything was ok she just needed to signs some forms. well we got there and they told us no bank had approved her and that they couldn't let us drive the car home and one of the salesman would be taking us home. then they explained to us it was only a spot delivery and even though they said the car was my mothers it wasn't. they were liars and scam artist. she would not be reimburst for her payment to the insurance company, nor the gas cuz they took the car with a full tank and if we had of sold the other car we would have been clean out of transportation. this can't be legal can it?

to intentionally lie to a person. and if we were guaranteed a shopping spree why didn't we recieve it? and if we were preapproved and the car was hers how could they take it? and why do they still have her check and haven't given it back? isn't that misrepresentation. we weren't told of a spot delivery but instead it was her car and they thanked her for purchasing her car.
