Bill Heard Chevrolet rip-off scam con artists Plant City Florida
Oct 2002. I went to look at the new cars at Bill Heard trading in a 96 Land Rover Discovery. I told them I wanted a 4 door preferably a SUV, had to have towing pkg and payments under 450 per month.
They told me my payments would be over 450 a month on the 4 door blazer. They tried to sell me a 2002 Cavalier or a 2002 2 door Blazer. I wanted to look at the 4 door Blazer and they would not get the key to even open it for me.I needed a 4 door because I take my elderly parents everywhere. I am their only transportation. My father is going blind and has dementia. I explainted this and they still wouldnt let me look at the four door Blazer.
They kept teling me my payments would be around 550 a month if I got the 4 door and the only one I could afford was the 2 door or the Cavalier.
My Discovery payments were 550 a month and for the inconvience and saving a $100 a month I would consider the 2 door.
Once inside the building they offered me a deal and had me initial it stating my payments would be 450 -$460 per month. (Oh this paper does not exist anymore and they told me they didnt know what I was talking about) I signed and they told me that since it was so late in the evening they had no idea what finance company would pick up my loan and the computers were down. They had me sign papers that were blank telling me the same thing. So Late ect......
I asked what the papers were and was told I would have to sign some blank papers and he would go over it with me later. He never did go over the papers with me and left me to believe that my payments would be $450 -$460 per month and I would be notified at a later date which finance company took my loan. We left with the 2 door Blazer. 3 weeks later in the mail I get a payment bill for $525 per month.
If I wanted to pay 525 per month I would have bought the 4 door. I have tried exhaustively to resolve this with Bill Heard. They promised me they would help and weeks went by and they just postponed it and then tried to ploy me into buying another car (by telling me they would do an even exchange) got me back into their dealership and after I looked at the cars again I told them I wanated a 4 door Blazer they said they couldnt help me anymore unless I put up another 2-5 thousand dollars. What happened to the even exchange???
They thought they had suckered me once and maybe they could do it again. All I want is a 4 door, and they wouldnt let me look at it. I would have paid 550 a month for it but they promised me 450 a month for the 2 door and I was suckered in. Dont let it happen to you.

Lets Be Smart ..Bill Heard like so many other dealers is LYING to you even before you come into the store
#2Consumer Suggestion

First, NEVER go into any car dealership with the "payment mentality". The cost of a car is NOT so many dollars per month, its the entire cost.
Second, NEVER EVER sign ANY contract containing blanks...that's consumerism 101!.
Third, Bill Heard like so many other dealers is LYING to you even before you come into the store by telling you in their advertising a car costs such and such but then adding some type of official sounding fee or charge...its just a variation of the old sucker sticker con-game.
A $600 dealer fee is simply a tactic to advertise a lower price to get you to come in. They are NOT going to sell you the car for the advertised price because the dealer fee is added on. That's the real price of the car.
If any dealer has the audacity to LIE to you even before you come in thru the front doors, why on earth would you want to reward them by doing business with them?
