Went to Bill Heard Chevrolet on Sunday, March 28, 2004 to trade in a 2001 Expedition for a 2004 Trail Blazer. Mr. Holiday was my sales person & Mr. Sheflet the Finance person. My husband & my self's credit was run and was approved for a certain % rate & specified number of payments to BB&T. We were called back in a week and a half later because Glen said we needed to resign paper work. I called and was told he would be there when I came in. I left work & went to the dealership and he was off. His manager, Mr. Campbell, assisted me. I ask why we had to do this & why the interest rate had changed and the term of the loan had changed. He stated that is because the lender had changed; it had not changed it had always been BB&T.

He said that he did not know why but I should be happy because the number of payments being made would be less. Again I was lead to believe that the deal was complete & my trade-in of a '01 Expedition was pd off to Ford Credit. A few days later after signing the second set of paper work I began to receive calls from Ford Credit stating that they had not received payment. I called them on 4/12 and they said that they had not received the payoff and I would be turned over to collections & reported to the Credit Bureau @ 5pm on 4/16/04.I was told by Ms. Phifer on 4/14 at 5:15pm that the deal had not been funded yet by BB&T and that is why Ford had not been paid off. I ask her why it was not funded and she said she did not know and had ask Glen that morning and he did not have an answer for her & had not followed up on it.

I called Mr. Campbell this morning, 4/14, and spoke with him this, was after leaving three messages the day before. He said that the deal was funded & did not know why I was told that and a check to Ford would me mailed today 4/15. I said that that was not acceptable because Ford had to have payment by 4/16/04. Mr. Campbell said that he would have the payment sent overnight to Ford. I called 3x to receive a copy of the payment sent to Ford and no call back. At 5:15pm Mr. Hicks, Director of Customer Service, and told me that the check would be sent out on Friday & I told him that Mr. Campbell PROMISED to send the check overnight on Thursday. Mr. Hicks said that it would be Friday that the check would be sent out but he would call Ford when we got off the phone.

I gave him the 800 number and my name, address, phone # and social. I called Ford at 9:00am Friday, April 16 and they still had not received payment or a phone call from Bill Heard Chevrolet and said that at 4pm if they had not received PAYMENT that I would be turned over to collections & the credit bureau. I called Richard Campbell back at Bill Heard and he was very short and rude and put me on hold in the middle of a sentence while I was talking. Mr. Hicks then came on the line and said that he was going to take care of everything. I had to handle this myself.

October 2004, my service problems began. My transmission was rebuilt, computer module was replaced, parts of the engine was replaced and continued to drive rough. I brought it back several times and was told there was nothing wrong only because they could not duplicate the problem. My SUV was brought in several times through the first of the year for similar problems and each time some thing else was replaced. I brought it back in June 2005 because the engine stopped on me while driving. They had it for a few days replace a part and then I picked it up. That same day I picked it up it died on me again. They then kept if for two weeks and replaced a fan. Prior to this I had tried to claim this automobile under the GA Lemon Law. I found that this would cost me thousands of dollars that I do not have. I called Bill Heard Chevrolet and set up an appointment with Mr. Raines, the GM. He then pawned me off on someone else when I showed up for our meeting. I then met with Ms. Jackson and Mr. Hicks. They ask me what I wanted & I said a new Trail Blazer that works or a factory warranty that would last me the entire term of my current auto loan. They said that they would do there best to get me in a new car which meant that they would just trade my current one in for a new one. That is not what I wanted because during my divorce my credit was damaged due to my ex-husband and I would have a high interest rate and additional years left to payoff a car. We then agreed that they would first try to get General Motors to extend my warranty and they would not. Ms. Jackson said that Bill Heard Chevrolet would extend my factory warranty through the life of the loan. This was around the first of July. I gave her my BB&T loan information and she said that she was going to type up a letter and get this information to me in writing that week. On July 15, I received a letter saying that they would only extend it to 60,000 miles or 6 years which ever cam first. I called Wanda and said that this is not what we agreed to. She said that this was the best they were going to do and I need to be happy with that and this was a courtesy to me.
