On 12-02-2007 we went to look for a mini-van; greeted at our explorers door by friendly salesman. Who went and got the vehicle we where interested in we took it for a test drive. Granted we were very happy with it and purchased it and traded our vehicle in on the same day. We had to come back on monday 12-03 with the title to our vehicle they were to have our tag off and ready for us by the next day.... NOT; on our way back home from I75 to I285 (I couldn't feel the gas pedal....) I have Multiple Scelrosis I didn't know if it was that my MS kicked in or not.... NOT; the gas pedal became DISENGAGED on I285 over Peachtree Industrial in the middle of rush hour traffic we called called the salesman that had sold us the mini-van and my Daughter who was just ahead of us had pulled over to the side of the expressway and called HOV for some roadside assisstance.... Keep in mind we are sitting in the van while traffic thins out and my husband was looking for a phone number when HOV passed us and three minutes later I see this vehicle approaching doing all of 55 mph she slammed on her brakes and hit us. Then the Doraville PD showed up and HOV returned to get us off the road.

We had to rent a vehicle for the day because we could not get back to the dealership before the shop closed. We went down there the next day to put some ump under someone, they kept telling us they couldn't find the van. And we were told they would not pay for the rental car but to take it over to Enterprise and they would cut the rate for us. Needless to say they did not do anything with speed. Friday we went back to see what status ithey where in; then they told us we could take it with us.

To this day we have not received our handicap tag off our traded vehicle, only a phone call asking us how much we paid for our tag $50 or $100. Mr Osby said he would drop it in the mail 12-18-07, if never showed up we called and he said give it till Saturday now he tells us we have to come in to get it. Both my Husband and myself are handicap he had a knee replacement that left him with drop foot and My MS is not under control; stress is a #1 factor of that. I have treatment once a month for several hours with the hopes of remission someday.

Dealer Fee

#6Consumer Comment

The funny thing I consistently see on this site is that folks are always picking on Bill Heard in regards to their dealer fee, however if you pick up a newspaper in any city, particularly any major market with an agressive dealer body you will always see the generic disclaimer or some variation of "plus tax, tag, title and dealer fee" so to always chase the Heards about "bogus" dealer fee either indicates you have a grudge against them or you are oblivious to the transactions that take place in every dealership around the country.

The vehicle was stranded on I-285 in the lane next to the fast lane. There was no getting it off the road.. STOPPED.. BROKE DOWN.. IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.. It's plain and simple we where waiting on HERO to help us off the road, they failed us when they passed us by and in moments later we got hit.

I read this story several times and couldn't make a whole lot of sense out of it either! I would think if someone breaks down they pull off the road rather than stoping in a lane of traffic. Perhaps the writer of this story should learn how to write an accurate account of things instead of trying to sound "cute" with the 'NOT'.

But then again, consider this...the writer no doubt paid a BOGUS FEE of several hundred dollars! Typical BOGUS BILLY! Lets see...$700 for "preparing documents"???

What's the Problem?

This is a wierd disjointed story. You apparently bought a van, had a problem with the gas pedal, pulled to the side of the road and someone hit your van. Then you switch to some story about not getting handicapped tags transferred. What happened to the van? Can't somebody drive to the dealership and pick up the tags? Sorry -the story just doesn't make any sense. Why don't you file an update so people can figure out what Bill Heard Chevrolet did that was worth your writing ROR.
