March 4, 2007
I had the Equinox car delivered to Bill Heard Chevrolet, Town Center, Kennesaw, GA

March 5, 2007
Enrique, the service advisor at Bill Heard Chevrolet, had the car checked.

March 6, 2007
Enrique contacted me to inform me that he had discovered the same issues with the two blown head gaskets caused by an internal leak with a repair estimate of $2,000. I authorized Enrique to complete this work on the vehicle.

March 9, 2007
Enrique contacted me to inform me there was more internal damage than previously found. When the engine was taken apart to repair and replace the head gaskets a crack in two cylinders was found and required replacement of the engine. He quoted a cost of a new engine is $5500 and a used engine is $4500.
The current engine cannot be reassembled.

March 9, 2007
I call GM Customer Assistance requesting customer financial assistance for this unexpected change in cost, and service.

March 13, 2007
GM Customer Assistance agent Matthew Burns informed me that my request had been denied and there was nothing more he could do for me.

March 14, 2007
GM Customer Assistance agent Matthew Burns contacted me to inform me that he is wanted to help me, and understood that my situation was very unfortunate, and not warranted, and would seek higher level authority to approve request.

March 16, 2007
Mr. Burns informed me that my request was denied once again.

March 16, 2007
I call Enrique at Bill Heard Chevrolet to inform him to repair the car with a used engine.
There is no explanation for the internal damage to the vehicle (no accident, service damage or driver negligence). Each service technician determined that the car just gave out. With proper maintenance and no indication of a problem, my question is: Why did a 2005 two-year old vehicle just give out with no previous problems or service issues?
