Complaint Review: Bill Me Later

Bill Me Later ripoff adding interest & late fees to pending refund amount - will not assist in dispute with Bidz.com Atlanta Georgia

Did not receive merchandise from Bidz.com - a month later I received a bill from Bill-Me-Later... I contacted them to tell them I never received any merchandise - they said to contact Bidz.com - who "finally" refunded a portion of the amount billed - leaving a balance of $20.65 - which continues to have late fees and interest charges added to it - as of Sept 2006 - the balance is over $80 FOR SOMETHING I NEVER RECEIVED!!!

They [Bill-Me-Later] have been no help, and their customer service rep actually yelled at me on the telephone and told me that it was my problem and that I need to contact Bidz.com (yeah right) look up all the complaints about "them"...)

Then he tells me that - the amount was for re-stocking fees!! (how did he knowhmmm?) Re-Stocking!!! for What?? I never received the merchandise - so I never had a chance to inspect it or the opportunity to return it if I wanted to!!! This is an outright RIP OFF and now I have to worry about my credit report because of the fraudulent actions of these two companies working in cahoots!!!

It is outright FRAUD to be billed for something I did not receive. All I want is the $20.65 credited to the Bill-Me-Later Account so they will cancel the late fees and interest and put this whole nightmare behind me.

Come on stop laying the blame on some one else. The company many have some issues like customer service, but what company doesn't have issues with customer service.

I check my po box regularly regardless of if I am expecting something. Always get in the having to check your box every 3 days at the minimum and this entire situation would have been avoided. It is not their problem you didnt check your p.o. box! Take responsibilty and lesson learned. Oh and half the companies out their charge a restocking fee now.

I just posted a ROR on my experience with BML. They're saying I owe them alot more than $32.50 tho. I ordered a granite top dining room table and the 4 chairs to match it. Never got it. BML took the charges off in January 2008, then put them back on in April! I wonder how many other companies are in cohoots with them.

Your two companies have a pretty good set up going to extract fees and inflated charges from unsuspecting customers.

First, since I am not the "sender" the post office can not do anything about a claim.

I did not receive any e-mails from your company that the items were shipped - or that there was a package waiting for me at the post office.

Second that is a load of crap having to pay an additional $15 to ship an item that at the "most" costs only $4 for Priority Mail from the post office... on top of what you already ripped me off for, plus Bill Me Later interest and late fees, and

...third after reading all the complaints in this forum I'm not sure I want to do business with your company!

So I would appreciate it if you would please contact Bill Me Later and issue a credit to my account for the $20.65, so they will remove the late fees and interest and I will put this issue to rest.

Undeliverable Address

The customer's package was sent back to Bidz.com as undeliverable. Firstly, to accuse Bidz.com of any fraudulent dealings is inaccurate. The items were sent in a timely manner and eventually returned to us by the customer's post office because it could not be delivered. The notes we have on file show the package never being claimed at the post office. If the customer was never notified there was a package waiting, this would be the fault of her local post office. Secondly, upon return of the item, we notified the customer with the following:

Your package was returned to us by the United States Postal Service as undeliverable. We have your package on hold in our vault and are ready to re-ship. If you do not wish to have the items, we will refund you for the items less Shipping and Handling. If you would like your package re-shipped, there will be a charge $ 15.00.
Please forward us your proper address and payment details ( CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND EXPIRATION DATE ) for the charge and we will ship promptly. Please be advised that we do not store any credit card information on file. Please respond quickly so that we may complete this transaction. If we do not get a response from you within the next 5 days your items will be refunded (less Shipping and Handling) and re-listed.

As a courtesy, we held the package for one week in hopes of receiving a response from the customer to have the item reshipped. She contacted us 8/9/06 requesting a refund, meaning she was not interested in reshipping the package. THE REASON THIS WAS NOT REFUNDED IN FULL: Bidz.com paid for shipping and a transaction has taken place therefore the shipping and trans fee are not refunded. The customer WAS refunded in full for her merchandise and sales tax. Though it was returned to us, Bidz.com is not reimbursed by the post office for the shipping costs. If the customer would like a refund for the shipping, we strongly suggest she contact her local post office with this tracking number: 9121 0982 4720 xxxx. The complete delivery history is there. If the post office did not make an attempt to deliver the package, the blame lies there. Neither the customer, nor Bidz is at fault for the item being returned. We recommend seeking full reimbursement for any accumulating interest and late fees from the post office. Also, make sure to speak with the post office manager to make your case clear.
