I WAS RIPPED OFF BY AAFES AND SO ARE YOU! I recently purchased some subdued insignia and name tapes through the online store knowing i would get a great price. I bought 6 packs of E-6 rank.

They hit my ATM account SIX times!!! at $1.40 a piece!! Then I got six name tapes and US Army tapes. Once again 12 ATM hits at $1.40 a piece!!!!

Imagine if I bought 100 of these!!! I was about to order for my whole office!!! I would be bankrupt because of the trust I had that was violated in OUR AAFES system.

So what do I do? I call looking for an explanation and a"we will fix the problem asap!!" But what do I get??? " Oh, sir, thats the way we do business and thats the way its been done for more than 2 Years." People!! What the f%&k is going on here!!! I'll tell you what! Keep my 18 extra dollars. But please, for ALL the Troops out there who depend on this online system they are getting screwed...and AAFES is getting rich...so are the banks!!! AAFES...are you listening....i am comming up your a*s with as much congressional clout as I f%&king can..in a time of war you continue to screw our own troops???? Your a*s is mine...god help you.

"ATM" card use

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, April 02, 2003

From your report, it appears that AAFES charged you an additional $ 1.40 for each "ATM" use. Sounds like this was a bank charge and not an AAFES charge. If you ordered on line and checked on the box marked debit card, of course you were charge the additional funds. If you would have checked credit card, you would not have been charged by the credit union/or/bank. The same is true where ever you use your 'debit' or 'atm' card. When asked, indicate it is a credit card and not a debit card. Hope this helps in the future. Congrats on your promotion, by the way.
