Complaint Review: Bill Thomas Chase Jaques Green Home Solutions Home Flooring Solutions Always Build Green

We thought we had done our homework; we were impressed with what Bill Thomas told us he could do. He has a store front at 167 Main Street
Norwalk, CT 06851 and a web site. We were impressed; he looked solid; he took us anyway.

Right now we're six months into a job that shouldn't have taken more than a month. The contract we have isn't worth the paper....you get it. No matter what we do (Better Business Bureau, Consumer Protection, formal letters of complaint, calling every day), it doesn't move Bill.

Our job had an end date of mid-February; it's the end of July now and we're still waiting for Bill to send someone to finish the last few things. Only a day's work, at most.

Bill's office manager, Chase Jaques, his step-son, rarely answers our calls or doesn't return calls, or promises to call back with yet another excuse about why no one's here to work, but doesn't call.

Weeks and weeks have gone by while we wait for someone to show up to work. And then, sometimes it's only one man for 2 or 3 hours. Bill was quick to demand money up front. And the demolition started almost the next day. But after the first couple of days, it was six weeks before we saw anyone again.

For the last six months we've lost the use of our garage, a work room, our family room, our second bathroom, and our laundry room. I spent weeks and weeks lugging our laundry to a laundromat. We have a wedding and shower coming up; family would like to stay with us but we've had to turn them away because our sleeper sofa is in the garage and the downstairs isn't finished.

I can't tell you how frustrating this situation is; it has taken a large toll on my family. We've done everything we can think of to move this job along and everything has failed.

In talking with some of Bill Thomas' employees I find they haven't been paid, that they have gone through many pay periods without being paid. In talking with his sub-contractors, I find they also haven't been paid. Even the electrician, for whom Bill demanded extra money in February, hasn't been paid for the work he did in our home.

Bill has changed the name of his company twice in the six months since we started our renovation. Home and Flooring Solutions; Green Home Solutions; Always Build Green. He's jumped on the "green" wagon only so that he can continue to scam people.

Please stay away from this guy. Bill Thomas sometimes uses his wife's maiden name of Jaques. Stay away from Bill; don't get taken like we were.
