birdi Mark Belinsky (CEO), Justin Alvey (CTO) birdi not delivered almost two years since I ordered and paid San Francisco California

Oct. 5, 2015: paid $439.20 for a five pack of birdi smoke detectors

Oct. 18, 2015: received an email: "we’re ready to ship this month."

Oct. 3, 2016: received an email: "Now that the Birdi Smart Detector is fully life safety certified, we’re ready to ship you your device. Our manufacturing facilities are set up and operational, producing Smart Detectors that we’ll be shipping early November." (emphasis theirs)

Nov. 7, 2016: received an email: "Time to confirm your shipping info! Mass production for the next batch of Birdi Smart Detectors is now underway. We need to verify your mailing address before we're able to ship you your pre-order." I confirmed my shipping address is still valid.

Dec. 9, 2016: received an email: "However, due to the holidays being crunch time in the factories. our packaging has gotten a bit backed up. In order to limit further delays, we decided to ship some of the devices in brown kraft cardboard, rather than the fully-designed version."

Mar. 13, 2017: received an email: "Over the last few months, we’ve begun shipping the Smart Detectors that we recently manufactured...our current laser-focus is only on making and shipping a truly unique and remarkable product."

It is now Sep. 14, 2017, almost two years after I initially ordered and I have not received a response about when to expect my order to arrive. Their website and social media keep saying they are shipping but judging by the comments on Facebook and Twitter (which get deleted), many people have not received their orders either and are very frustrated by the lack of communication.
