Birmingham Water Works is a joke.  This is a perfect example of corrupt government monopoly at work.  I mean what are you going to do without water.

I missed a payment because of using a bank bill pay that the schedule for payments had run out.....my fault.  I've been a customer for over 17 years and have had very few missed payments.  I had rescheduled a payment but it did not reach the water works before their planned cut-off of service of which I was never notified.  C'mon, if they are going to schedule a cut off the least they could do is notify you of the scheduled cut off so that you would send them the bill payment.

Not with the B'ham Water Works.   No notification means they slap you with a $30 processing fee and a whopping $150.00 reconnect fee.  This company could give a $%**^ about their customers.  They don't want to inform you they just want to outlandishly charge whatever the heck they want in order to make as much $$$ as possible to pay for their corruption. i.e. see birmingham sewer board, probably the most corrupt gov't facility in the nation.

Absolutely corrupt, dishonest, despicable company.
