I purchased a one year subscription to Bitdefender anti-virus software in November, 2015. Seven days ago I received an email notification that my subscription was due for renewal. I can't currently afford to renew, so I called customer service to cancel the subscription. I was told that my request would be forwarded to their "sales" department and that I should hear from them. I heard nothing from them, and the clock was ticking down to the date that they'd auto-renew the subscription. I called again and again, asking each time simply that the subscription be cancelled. I got same response: "Sir, I will forward this to my colleagues in sales." I said no: just cancel the subscription. I don't need to talk to "sales." I was told that this is procedure and I would have to wait for "sales." Well, the day for auto-renewal arrived, and sure enough, they tapped my credit card! What really bugs me about this is that Bitdefender received really good reviews from sites like PC Magazine, PC World, and others. As far as I'm concerned, my bad review here applies to both Bitdefender as well as the "trusted" enteties that promote Bitdefender. Any way you look at it, I was robbed.
