I purchase Bitdefender Total Security on Sept 1, 2011 for $60. I had no problems until a month after I purchased the software on Oct 11, 2011. I began to have problems with my computer locking up and crashing and I noticed Trufos errors in my Event Viewer pertaining to Bitdefender. They told me not to worry about it. I opened my last ticket on Nov 11,2011 and finally on Dec 2,2011, Bitderfender acknowledged it was their problem. Two of my computers had already crashed so bad the operting systems had to be reloaded. I am not proctected from viruses, which is why I purchased their software. I asked for my money bacjk on 12/27/2011 and was told they would not give me a refund because they have a 30 day refund policy. So I have wortless software and they have my money. I was forced to purchase other security software to protect my 3 PCs. I want my money back. A supervisor named Chris Gollino claims I cannot have my money back and I must wait until they fix the software, but they are in no hurry becasue this is : a very difficult issue". All good things must come to an end... And so has this, "Once Great Software" ! Buyer BEWARE. I have a two year subscription to Total Security. The 2012 edition worked great. I then, I seen that I was eligible for a free upgrade to 2013. "What a WASTE of time. They should change the name to "Bit" Finder.

I had a lot of trouble right from the beginning. I finally called Bitdefender Support on a Saturday Night. At least it was where I live. They are several hours ahead of my time zone. Yet, They are there 24 hrs to take your call. "A Five year old could take you call and do as well."

Every 24 hours, for a week I would call. When asked how long it usually took to get a response, I was told usually 24 hours. Finally a week later, I was contacted and asked to resubmit my scan results, as the several I had already sent were NOT usable...(They sent me their program to use for the scans I submitted. That program gathers information from the computer and Zips it to a folder..which is attached to an email reply... WHAT IS IN THE FILE??? The user has NO way of knowing. It is Password protected!?!?)  I have decided "This just is NOT worth my effort"!

I can run the 2012 program and it does great. I can run other programs and they do great. I only am having problems with the 2013 Edition. This alone, should mean something. The more times I run the program, then clean up my system (to include the registry), then check for updates and run the program again: The MORE problems are found. Then it states that the program is NOT able to clean up what was found. That my system still has virus infections, that Bitdefender can NOT do anything about.

Thus the name Bit Finder. I have a 1TB system. Finding a Bit sized Virus and NOT doing anything other than report the fact that it is there, and not even show where it was located is of NO Use.

Some of the other programs that I have also run are: SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Ashampoo Anti-Malware, Windows Defender, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Bitdefender 2012. These All worked Great. The Only trouble I have had is using Bitdefender 2013.

This added to the Very Poor Customer Service I have received over the past week; has led me to this Very Helpful Site, in hopes of WARNING the rest of you. Keep in mind, I did NOT tell you NOT to purchase this product.... I just told you, "WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY", if you do!!! There are so many other programs out there, why waste money on one that does NOT work? Good Luck, I hope this helps

Finally Did receive refund

I wanted to let everyone know that I finally did receive a refund of the money I paid. I had to write about my displeasure on the Bitdefender/ forum website. A customer service person empowered to help me saw the post and helped me. I am very appreciative. Apparently they have a fix going out finally to their software as well. Good luck to those waiting for this fix.
