We thought that we were buying two 2000 Mercury 225 EFI Saltwater motors from Blackbird Ind. When we tookk our boat to Florida we discovered that they did not have any serial numbers on the outside of the motors and that it was against the law in Florida to use these motors. If caught using these motors in Florida as well as other states they would have confiscated our boat and everything in it and would have charged us with a misdemeanor. The Florida Fish & Game tried to help us get the numers for the motors only to find out that the serial numbers on the engine block belonged to a 1997 250 EFI & 1995 225 Carburetor motors not 2000 motors. Now his defense has been that they are used parts put together to make remanded motors but where did they come up with these years? Now when I called one of the owners, Mike Jr. he sent me numbers for the motors that were not serial numbers but just some numbers he made up. Now Mikeclaims that he did not know that we were going to sell the boat in Florida but he did know that we were going to use the boat in Florida. The funny part is my 2000? motors are on hi facebook page as 2002 motors. Really? I have since read many bad reveiws on this company and Mike Demayo Jr. and Senior. I would like for anyone reading this that would like to help protect any body else for going through this or any other problems with them to get me your info so that we can band together and do something about this company. If you get in touch Ripp Off Report they should give you my info. Thanks

This is in reguards to a post that I had made about Blackbird Industries and Mike Demayo Jr. Mike and I have came to an agreament that this spring he will build me two new motors and replace them on my boat for free of charge for the two motors that I had purchased from him with no serial numbers. We could not use the motors in Florida without serial numbers because it is against their law even though they ran fine. The biggest problem was a lack in communication and letting our lawyers talk instead of us talking. I am glad that we could work things out and am sorry that I let my anger do my writing on the complaint that I had wrote. Also keep in mind when you read bad reveiws out there that you can not make every body happy all of the time and I forgot that. For that I am sorry. Thanks for working this out Mike Jr.
