I purchased a Home from Blandford Homes in 1994. From the very beginning I had problems. While it was being built I noticed a thin crack all the way through the slab of the house. I ask one of the men who worked for Blandford customer service about it, he said not a problem, just a stress crack.

Years later that crack is a problem. It has raised about 1/2 inch and you can see it under the carpet. since the very firsy year I've had my ceiling crack, walls crack and it never stops. Instead of putting in post-tension slab in this home he put in a floating slab. Not great when you have expansive soil under your house, My driveway and back patio have been replaced but the did the same thing again, coming up about 1 inch and making it very un-level. My garage door shifts all the time and fell off and had to be re-placed.

At one time none of the doors in my house would close.

Problem is, I have a house thats almost imposible to sell and Blandford won't do anything about it.

Just think twice before you buy a Blandford Home. I call it a piece of Junk!!

Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diver,
I'm assuming you're in El Dorado Lakes in Gilbert. We also bought in 1994. We have the same problems, maybe worse. We called someone to fix our drywall and he refused saying we needed a structural engineer. He's trying to find someone for us.

Over the years I've repeatedly contacted Blandford verybally and in writing and was dismissed that it was not their problem. The Registrar of Contractors ageed saying that Blandford did not have to warranty their foundation. I know there are others in this subdivision with the same problems. I don't know if there is a legal solution to this but if there is maybe we can find strength in numbers.
