I recently went into the blink fitness on 125th st in Harlem, NYC to join. They let me do all the setup just fine. Then as soon as they get my credit card, the girl says i have a balance of $78.39. I had a previous green membership from August 2014 to August 2015 which i cancelled in person at the Bryant park location.

I canceled it as soon as my 1 year contract was up. They auto debit so i knew i was paid up at the time. The blink associate said herself that she couldn't see a reason for the charge. She said her manager would put in an inquiry and they would get back to me. Two days later they charge my card $78 without saying a word. I email their customer service and they don't reply for two weeks.

When they do reply they just say it's for a past due balance and there's nothing they can do. They refuse to provide receipts for cancellations in the gyms. I know i canceled as soon as my year was up because i tried to cancel earlier and then had to go back later. I'm appalled by this unauthorized abuse of my credit card.

Im even more appalled by their utter lack of customer service. Nobody ever tried to contact me to collect this balance 3 years ago when it was supposedly accruing. And nobody bothered to talk to me before charging my card. The charge is a completely unauthorized activity. Anybody want to put together a class action lawsuit? I'm very interested in joining if the already is one.
