This company is a total rip-off.

My Cell phone was charged month after month for 9.99 and 3.99 invidvidual bills for no reason. As soon as the first appearance of this charge showed on my bill I called them asking how to get them to stop charging me. They said send a text message to 4222 saying STOP. I did that, repeadedly. Still was charged 9.99 and 3.99 on my cell phone.

So I called them again and emailed their company saying I didn't want their ring tones or horoscopes. They still continued charging me. This is still going on. I emailed the president of the company who informed me that I was not being charged, that they had stopped charging me on the day I had first send the STOP text message.

I emailed him back with proof that I had been charged. I asked for a refund of all charges since I never signed up for their services to start with...he offered me a refund of 9.99. A joke. I have been charged ten times that and never used their services. I did a little research and found this company has many complaints. They keep charging and charging when people never signed up and never stop charging. Their fraudulent behavior needs to be stopped. Someone needs to be behind bars.

It doesn't matter how many emails, text messages, or phone calls you make, they keep charging you. The only way to stop the charges is to cancel your cell phone and get a new number. Their agreement terms says you can stop at any time by sending a text message to 4222; yeah right! The charges keep on going, every month, not stop!

What is so sad is I never applied for any of their services. I've never used anything they have to offer. It is just a total rip off. The only thing I did wrong was viewed their website and put my phone number in their box for a free ringtone. Well it wasn't free at all. It popped up a box once you entered your cell number saying you'd be charged monthly fees...after it said it was free. You could not X off the page or anything, no warning, nothing. It's a total set up! I never even got the so called "free" ring tone.

Apparently you guys are employees of these companies. Have you not heard all the complaints from people who are being charged and can't get this company to stop. How many times do you think I text messaged to 42222 the word STOP??? And every time it charged my cell phone money. I emailed them, called them so many times it wasn't funny! Every time they'd say something stupid...like I had been taken off two months ago...yet the charged kept on coming. How many times do you think I called Cingular? Enough times to get the picture...they wont do anything about it...you have to get BLINKO to stop charging you.

So I'm thinking maybe you work for these losers...or you've never experienced BLINKO. If you had, then you'd understand it's not so easy to get them to stop charging you... it's a big fraud! There is no cancelling of membership...you have to jump through hoops for months.

I tried all that...it doesn't work. Cingular told me they couldn't do anything about it, I'd have to contact Blinko and have them take it off.

I did text 42222. Many times. The word STOP...it didn't work...it's all a rip off that never ends.

Nothing stops them!

Yeah eventually if you keep harrassing them they stop charging...but it takes forever...months!

I've talked to many others who finally stopped being charged, but only after months of charges, calls, and text messages.

How to stop BLINKO charges

Blinko's short code is "42222" if you want to end them send "STOP" to this shortcode. Alternatively as the previous poster suggested cell phone service providers are able to blacklist third party service providers at your request. You may even be able to get a refund through the cell phone company directly depending on the exact situation.

Yes, the Blinko and other 3rd party charges are annoying and costly, but there is another way to make it so you can stop receiving these message and charges. Call your service provider, as most of them can block 3rd party services such as blinko.
