This is my story of time spent with Bob Johnson's newly created Blitz marketing Canada. (it was shamrock world wide b4 that - he had to change the name because of sites like this) I was first intrigued on my day of observation because I saw the $ that was being brought in by the salesman that I walked around with pitching the products that they were selling. The problem was that once the peddler returned to the office at the end of the night he had to give 75-80% the $200 collected that day to the owner in a nightly 'Settle-up' which I was not included in. For a days worth of work the peddler received about $50 or so. Did I mention that we drove to a territory an hour a way....? Gas isn't cheap!

I began my 'Adventure' with Blitz marketing and we were off. My first week I was guaranteed $100 per day and so I thought as long as I can afford my gas all would be good as every job had a learning curve....In week 2 I drove home with less than $30 in my pocket despite the fact that I high rolled the office which made me feel pretty good. I liked the way it felt to challenge myself in this regard so I came back another week.

The next week was better for me. I earned about $240 that week but yet at the end of the day I had nothing to show for my efforts...! had put it all in my gas tank. When I questioned why anyone would subject themselves to this that is when I learned about the 'Opportunity' Supposedly within 4-6 months a 'Sharpie' like myself could earn my Assistant Management and possibly be incorporated as a co-owner if not be incorporated as the sole owner of my own marketing company. That wasn't the first lie that I would be told nor would it be the last. I put my best foot forward knowing that I could sell anything if I applied myself.

After a period of about 16 weeks of enjoying the comical relief of some of the 18-19 year old peddlers that had already been brainwashed, I looked around and said this is ridiculous.. I have already put together a team selling enough product for me to qualify for Assistant management and things weren't getting any better. I approached the Owner of the company to let him know that I was not going to return to work the next day. At that point, the owner told me that I was worth an investment.

The investment came in the form of a financial arrangement of $80.00 per day. In return the expectations from me went through the roof. My already long days became even longer. In most cases I was working about 14-16 hours per day. Another stipulation of the arrangement was that if I was to be paid a set amount for to stay with the company, I would have to agree to take as many interviewees out with me on a daily basis for a day of observation. At times over the course of the next 2 months I would have as many as 5 complete strangers packed in the car with me on the way to the territory and subsequently walking around on the street with me looking like complete idiots. Nonetheless I pressed on....remember the opportunity to own my own business and make ridiculous amounts of money??? That is what kept me pushing on...

After about 6 months of working for the company I finally hit my requirements to be incorporated into ownership....but wait...it didn't happen then. I was told give it another 6 weeks and prove that I could sustain my numbers; another 6 weeks came and my numbers were even better at that point. That was the point that they would incorporate me for sure...right?? Nah...it didn't happen then either. They told me to wait until I went on the company trip to Acapulco the following week.

Of course I figured that they wanted to take the opportunity to promote me on a company trip in a beautiful setting and in front of the top new recruits right...NOPE. It never did happen. Despite the fact that I was reassured by the '50 Million dollar man' that I was going to be incorporated for sure in the next 6 weeks, I couldn't take it any more. I made the decision that I was going to leave the company. I worked for another week and a half trying to get some money together for groceries and then I would be gone....

I left the company the following week, I had my fill of all of the lies and deception that the company had to offer and I realized that in the amount of time that i was there i had missed out on so much time with my family & friends in order to chase some 'Opportunity' . I no longer wanted my name to be associated with the unethical practices with Blitz marketing.

One last thing.....When the others in the office saw the way that I was manipulated and used by the owner in this company, they made a unified decision to walk away with me. We had 13 reps in the company on the day that I left.....two weeks later the office shut down because I took 11 of them with me....do the math..

I read in another post about Innovage that someone feared that if they had made it to management that they would have felt like they had sold their soul to the devil.....I don't think that person was exagerrating at all....I felt it too.. I am thankful that I have Christ in my life....for these reasons.
