Blockade Runner Beach Resort and Conference Center aka Four Seasons Management Company ripoff Wrightsville Beach North Carolina
This hotel bills itself as a beach resort and it advertises many plush ammenities. It has a tremendous web page and bill boards along I-40. These ads are meant to reflect the wonderful/comfortable stay you will have at their facility. But they are extremely misleading.
My stay was a complete nightmare the shower fixture would not stop running. The repair man that finally came up after it had kept me up all night was very rude and indifferent. The carpet was nasty, the sheets/curtains/room smelled like musky moldy death. The advertised ammentities were either broken or not available for use.
I am handicap and the only two parking places for the handicap people were used by non-handicap patrons. The staff did not bother to police these law-breakers.
The luggage Handlers demanded tips and would not allow me any personal space or freedom with my very own luggage, they were rude and unattentive. The entire staff was generally disinterested in being at their jobs.
Ice machines were broken/disrepair. Charges for local phone!

The staff is hired on a "party with the boss" basis. While working there one summer, I found them to be a nasty company. The food is left out overnight in the well in the kitchen. I have seen spoons in the mayonaise left uncovered many times, not to mention the lunch meats and condiments. Some chefs touch/scratch themselves before handling the food, I have seen it. They laughed at me for commenting they wash their hands. The food grade was a false document with incorrect dates on it. Ask any employee there and see how many tell you it is a "party job". They were not hired to keep the business in good running order. We had sewage problems in the kitchen all the time and no one came to fix it. No one wanted to worry about it.
They would also sexually harass all the female employees. I saw the landscaper grab waitresses on their butts (in front of the general manager) and then they both laughed at her. Keep your daughters away from these people, they are not good. One girl was locked in a freezer with the landscaper and he mauled her. She did not want to lose her party favors so she did not complain. wow, what a place this Hotel is!
Wearing a bikini will get you a job as a bartender out on their patio though. Oh boy!
