We have been a blockbuster renter for 8 years... with maybe 2 or 3 late fees because they were late... and we paid them. We got a post card from Blockbuster on 06/26/04 stateing we had not returned the Movie "The Others". Now Blockbuster charged credit card for $18.99 on the 06/17/04 saying we never returned the movie, they also stated that they had called us(THEY DID NOT)so this was concidered a purchase.... now we returned the movie with the 2 other movies that we had rented... this movie in Question "The Others" was a WEEKLY rental we retuned it early.

When I contacted them on the 06/27/04 they stated the movie had yet to be reurned... hence the chargeing of the $18.99. I disputed the fact and told them they had it, I doubled checked to make sure I didn't have it, so i knew they did. I told them I would call back in 15 min after they looked for it. Well 15 min later it magically appeared at Blockbuster.... but they then stated I was 3 weeks late... returned on the 06/23/04 at 2:00 pm! Thats a neat trick because at the time they stated I was at work 20 miles away!! Basically they told us that theres is no way it could have been returned on the 3rd.... the day they log it in is the day it is returned.. well it took them 3 weeks to log it in.... WTF!! I have no grounds to stand on because they are big business... we emailed the story to Blockbuster.. we called district manager and went in person to confront them and cut up our Blockbuster cards and canceled them.. what is a person to do.. Where is our credibility??!!

Dear Nicole..Hi thxs for your comments and suggestions. We already contacted our bank and since blockbuster charged us less than the amount first taken ( reimbursed)they figured it was a done deal.
Also Spokane Valley IS a serparate city now from Spokane...we have our own counsel and separate police force and taxes and so on.The Valley is not just thrown in.
The job where my husband works is close to the Airport at Gieger....Thx you and Have a great day also.

First where (what city) do you work in that is 20 miles away from Spokane Valley (I love how people throw in the "Valley" now - it makes it sound so cool)
Second - call your bank - you said they charged your card. I don't have dealings with Blockbuster but I assume this means a debit or credit card. - and dispute it with them. Tell them you believe the movie wasn't late. They may be able to help. Good luck. I haven't heard many great things about them - hence my no dealings with them - but I don't know.

Have a great day,
