Complaint Review: Blockbuster Video

I rented a video from blockbuster last saturday night. They said it was due back on monday before 12:00 p.m. I returned the video at 11:30 a.m.

Tonight, Saturday, I was trying to rent another video and the the cashier said i had a $4 and something late fee. I told her that I had returned the video on time.

Then her manager came over, looked at the computer screen and said no, no, it's been confirmed that your video was late. I said confirmed by who? She said oh, I mean, I was working on monday and that video was not checked in until 5:30 p.m.

I told her that I personally returned the video before 12. she said that she was sorry. I gave them my blockbuster card and told her to cut it up. Then I asked for the managers name and number. Then I left the store.

I didn't want them to call the police on me or something, because i was so upset. Then I called the store back and asked for the managers after hours number.

When I was refused the number I asked for the district managers number. I called the district manager and left her a message stating that I demand satisfaction or I will keep climbing the corporate ladder until somebody hears me. i've paid many late fees to blockbuster, but i will not pay one penny when I wasn't late.

Also, the manager in charge at the time could have avoided all of this by simply taking responsibility for her mistake. I intend to search the internet for blockbusters corporate structure to notify those at the top of what is going. $4 is not a big deal, but my time an embarrasment at the store is a big deal. Also, my weekend has been ruined by this experience. I won't sleep until action is taken to resolve this situation!! Justice will be served!

I had a similar situation like yours. I challenged a late fee at BB. I finally said forget it and dropped my card on the counter and left the store. But the biggest thing I did after that was I GOT OVER IT.C'mon Bill..Let it go..Go to your happy place. It is a video store run by teenagers who give less than a s**t about you or anybody who looks like you. You need a hobby...or get a dog.
