In November of 2002, I purchased several previously viewed DVDs from Blockbuster Video. Among them was a copy of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. I was unable to watch the DVD for a month, as I had also purchased the entire 3rd Season of the Sopranos, and was more interested in watching that first.

I finally got around to watching the DVD after Christmas, during which I recieved a new copy of the same movie from my mother. Since I had 2 copies of the same movie, and one of them was clearly defective, I decided to return the defective DVD to Blockbuster for an exchange or refund. After talking to the clerk, he told me that he would only replace the disk with another copy of the movie, even though the reciept clearly stated that I could refund or exchange the movie.

In addition to having the reciept stating the return policy, there were signs on the walls behind the counter stating the same policy. The manager on duty outright refused to honor the policy. I argued with him for nearly twenty minutes, and was able to get him to concede that he was selling defective products, but he refused to honor his companys policy. He then threatened to call the police if I did not leave the store immediately. I recorded the District Managers office number and left the store before things turned ugly.

I called the district manager's office shortly thereafter, told her, Tammy DeCastro, about my situation, and how I was mistreated. To this date, this situation remains unresolved. Becuase of this, I have decided to punish Blockbuster Video by boycotting its products, and encouraging my friends, family, and co-workers to do so as well.

Hey Colin....You're an IDIOT!!!! ripoffreport is better off without losers like you wasting their time and harrasing their employees. Let me get this straight: The manager ADMITTED they sold defective products? We all know thats a lie. Also the policy is CLEARLY stated exchanges for the same copy only for dvd, videos or cd's. Every fool but you knows that. You probably made bootleg copies anyway like a typical StarWars geek. You also think you are "punishing" BB by not going there and telling all your friends and family. You could tell 100 people and it would not make a dent in BB sales you fool. Just admit it. You got stuck with 2 tapes and tried to get BB to take the hit for it. They should have thrown you out.
